Comment:

Provides no criteria for exams. Feedback on this instructor from 2007 is still applicable (which is a very bad thing). Most of my classmates have below a C. There are no lectures, we simply are responsible for posting one discussion post a week. When your homework is graded, expect no feedback, just a grade (even if you did well). Withdrew.

Learned a lot. He grades mostly on his lectures and gives the questions for the midterm and final 2 weeks before the exam which is fair. Interesting lectures--knows his stuff!

Amazingly smart man, class was interesting. He definitely makes you think about things in a different light. The only way I got an A in this class tho was through extensive research. He covers almost nothing thats supposed to be on the Midterm and Final, both 6 essay questions. Be warned only take this class if your prepared to learn independantly.

I did not like this mans class.He was sometimes rude.His lessons were at times interesting,or at times really boring.There were moments were no one was paying attention.I would never take a class with him again.He needs to stop being kind of rude and answer people's important questions.

At first I thought Professor Kolkey's History 1 class was going to be fun or at lest interesting.Each week,I found myself high disliking his class and kind of leaving there in a bad mood.He always ignored me and was sometimes rude to me or to other people who had important questions.He'd always go off topic,and sometimes his lessons would drag on.

Freaking Genious but as said before, he is not a good Professor. He does not know how to get the lecture material across! He rambles on and on about different topics and then gets confused when you ask him a question. Not a good Professor! CLASS IS FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE! I am gettting a C and I am doing all the work. He is freaking out of it. :(

The class itself was not too bad but does require a lot of work and effort to be put into the class. Does respond to emails only if he thinks it is worth answering. Very unorganized online class but if you know what you are doing you will pass his class with ease. You might like him! I learned tons but don't really remember a lot of it. B Professor

Do not take this Professor under any circumstances. Terrible learning environment! His on-line class is almost impossible to get at least a "C" in. I private messaged about half the class asking if they got their grades and they said that they "have to retake the class" because they got D's. Seems like he did not pass anyone! Terrible class. Worst

Ask yourself before taking this course if you are desperate and there is no other Professor teaching the course. Pretty bad teaching method and I took his course online so I never met him, gave me a D and I studied a lot and did everything. Requires way to much work and my friend who was also enrolled got a Fail. Bad Professor, Bad Method. :(

Let me tell you something about Kolkey, he is an intelligent man who knows his history but does not know how to teach the material and therefore does not know how to get the information across to students. I wouldn't recommend taking his online course because it does require a lot of work. Does not respond to e-mails. That sucks really bad.

I hate this Professor. I am taking his on-line fast paced course right now and he is so freaking rood. I e-mailed him and he never e-mailed me back and after e-mailing him again he wrote something back very rood. I would not recommend this Professor to anyone. I had to drop his class and got a "W" because he was way too hard. Disgusting.

Very hard class but excellent Professor that will walk you through the course with relative ease. I got a "C" and I studied my butt off and did all the assignments in the class. He always seemed agitated answering e-mails. DO NOT TAKE HIM ONLINE! He does not follow the syllabus. it seems as though it is impossible to get an A or a B. Not recommend!

I took this guy last year and man is he a pain in the butt. He is very disorganized and follows no outline for the course and will purposly lower your grade without informing you! Seems like a "slacker" created this website - Why isn't "learning" a big deal category here?! Dr. Kolkey is an "A" star professor who creates a meaningful college experience. Consider yourself lucky if you've ever had him as your professor. He is a cut above.

I agree with the others. You learn nothing! The topics have nothing to do with the readings and he tends to grade people higher if they agree with his point of view. Class was disorganized and he provides no direction to his students. There are teachers out there that genuinely care about their students learning. This guy is not one of them.
