Dr Alfonso Barry is one of the best professors I've had at Emmanuel. She takes her job seriously, which makes you take the class seriously. Do the reading before class and take good notes, then ask her questions the next class. The tests aren't too hard - just do the assigned work. She doesn't accept late work, so make sure you pass it in on time.

Dr. Alfonso Barry is one of the most useful teachers at Emmanuel College. She has a direct interest in all of her students well being and she is filled with a great deal of advice. Her guidelines are strict but it leads you to admire and respect her because she keeps up with her way of teaching. you would be lucky to have her

Comment:

Good professor, very nice and helpful. But she doesn't go over everything, just a few points about the chapter and she let's people ask too many questions. We never finished a discussion because of this. Tests were hard and focused on unimportant things in the chapter or in the second book she makes you read that was unneeded. I would say that she's not very good with lectures but she's a very nice person.

Fabulous professor. Her teaching style makes SURE you understand and she's very thorough. I would absolutely take another class with her. Her tests aren't incredibly easy, but give yourself a couple days to look everything over, and you'll do fine. Highly recommend her.

Great professor!!! Young but educated. Tries to know the students as much as possible. She even learned most of our names. Not bad for a 150 student class. Would take her again anyday, but haven't seen another class of hers available.

Never finishes a lecture because she does not limit class discussion/questions. Good if you like asking questions, bad if you want to hear an actual lecture. Also, tests cover irrelevant details; it's easy to forget which psych class you're testing on.
