She is the worst Professor Ive ever had. She will call you out in front of everyone and whenever you have a question she makes you feel like your stupid. She rushes through the material in less than 10 minutes, which means you have to teach it to yourself. HBU needs to get more bio professors if im correct shes the only one who teaches this class

Extremely difficult tests. I felt like i knew the material, but the way she words her tests just gives nobody any shot of doing well. Plus, she's really mean and doesn't care how you're doing in the class.

She is likely the worst professor I have ever had. She rushes through complicated concepts in 5 minutes, expects you to know great detail on exams, and grades based on what she thinks is the correct answer. She ignores emails asking to discuss how her answers do not match the book or scientific literature. Don't walk away from this professor, RUN

She is unorganized. Her lectures are convoluted and her understanding of the content is questionable. Exams are difficult. Not because the content is hard to understand, but because you have to understand her arbitrary way of thinking. Get ready to self-teach and be confused on what you should know.

She is possibly the rudest person I have ever met in my entire life. She offers office hours when you need help but if you go to them she is extremely belligerent and aggressive for no apparent reason ultimately leaving you more confused than before. She is clearly not happy in her life and takes it out on everyone else around her. She's the worst.

For the tests, just listen to her lectures again that you've recorded and make notes from that. You won't need other material really. Understand everything and be able to write about it. She's tough but she's good.

Dr. Horn is very blunt, but with that being said, she is a great professor to take in order to get prepared for medical school. You won't get far by just memorizing in her class, you must understand the concepts. Her exams require critical thinking! She can be intimidating at first, but she is willing to help when asked.

Great professor, very knowledgeable, and easy to get along with. She has her days when her thought process is disorganized and it makes the lectures hard to follow. (she's a very busy professor outside of this class). Tests are very difficult. Study the material she covers (do not cram) and you can definitely make As.

Dr. Horn is a great professor. She's very concise and to the point and her notes only contain important information that will be on the test. She's also very blunt and honest with students. If you study her notes forwards and backwards you will get an A in her class. By far one of the best professors you'll take guaranteed!

My personal favorite professor at HBU. Plan on just breezing through a course and getting the A/B? She is not for you then. Dr. Horn will make you work to earn your grade, but the insightful knowledge she provides in the field of Microbiology is unrivaled in the city of Houston. If you are in it to better yourself as a student/biologist, she is urs

Micro is no joke with Horn. She will challenge you because she knows what students are capable of. She is an extremely intelligent woman and she knows what she's talking about so sometimes she can be intimidating. Study hard and take good notes, write down EVERYTHING she says. Also be ready to dedicate everything to the research project!

She tries her hardest to nail in the information to every student, but sadly the class is full of a bunch of non-attentive idiots who do not even know how to pay attention. I say take her if you want the challenge, even though here tests aren't hard in the first place.

Dr. Horn makes you think. It's up to you to learn. Read chapters before class. Take notes more like an outline with her examples. Anything on the board is important. Study in complete detail for exams. Questions aren't straight forward. They are critical thinking short answer questions. Take her class, put in the effort, and you'll grow!

Definitely an intimidating professor who's not very approachable. She knows what she is talking about, so definitely take her! The hardest part about micro was the research project. Everything else should be a walk in the park.

Dr. Horn is not as mean as everyone says, I was scared to be in her class because of everything I had heard. Being the only non Pre-Med in her class was not a problem at all. You just need to read the material before going to class and be able to answer her questions. Take notes, read, and study ahead of time for her tests and you should do fine.

Worst professor I have had in college. She can make fun of students or say they did a something totally wrong, just few minutes before taking her exam. She needs to be less degrading and more encouraging.

She has a reputation for being tough, and tough she is. However, I really appreciate her. I think I learned more in her class than in other Bio class at HBU. IF you want to be a Docto than take her. She prepares you well and she doesnt BS. I appreciate it. Dont complain about her being hard if you want to go to Med school. suck it up hope this help

What a hard professor her notes go off on tangents and aren't very structured, but keep in mind the test is mostly off her notes. A mean teacher who honestly doesn't like people, I'm sure if given the option she would just do research instead. Came on here to lower her grade, its far too high.
