he is a great professor! but the class was really boring because I wasn't into geography. 3 tests, all multiple choice no short answer, thats it. No homework, no nothing. He doesn't know your name and doesn't care if you don't show up. No roll. Best chill class ever :) AND HE'S CUTE

The course is boring: however, he is an amazing professor so nice and caring. His exams are simple and easy mostly things he says in class and some questions from assigned chapters in the book. Easy A.

It's a boring course, but he's all right. The book is pretty Eurocentric - but it's an American geography course, so that's no surprise. NO POWERPOINTS, so you have to go to lectures! Tests are usually around 75% from lectures and 25% from the book. Is it hard? No. Is it time consuming? YEP.

I went to his office hours before the first test and he literally asked me questions right from the test. Hes there to help you and doesn't mind going beyond to explain things to make sure you understand. You don't need to buy a textbook, just scan the pages he assigns from the library copy. 3 tests, 80 from lecture and 20 from reading.

While the information was interesting, his voice is so monotone and put me to sleep all semester.

Very energetic but has a very monotone voice. He only counts credit from three exams and he doesn't make study guides. If you make an effort to go to his office hours, he will help you though. And out of the 100 questions, 20 are derived from e readings, which are so unnecessarily long.

Hes a pretty good teacher but very boring. he lectures the entire class and make sure you pay attention cause EVERYTHING is on the test. he told us a joke and it ended up on the test....but other than that, if you go to all the classes and take really good notes, youll be just fine.

Lectures the whole class but is easy to follow and his stories are interesting. Pretty much take notes and study them a few days before the test. (There are 3 tests) Also grades on a curve. Very infomative. Good professor, I would recommend him.

Curtis is a great teacher. Enjoyed his class and will try to take him again. His lectures are really cool and I really wish I could have go to half of the places he has been. I'd recommend it to anyone. I took the class over summer and it was a great take over summer. Take it if you need it during summer.

My favorite class and professor at CSULB so far!! Long lectures but if you actually begin to listen what he is saying he really interesting and I have used my knowledge from this class in real life. NO HOMEWORK! All you have to do is take notes from his lectures (use your laptop!) You don't even need the book!

Easy course. very helpful. only complaint, his lecture has about 60% of useless information and 40% of actually facts that u might need to know about this class BUT he puts everything on the test. so try hard to take in everything he says. does like 70% of his lectures in useless slides. but again like 30-40% of its actually somethin worth learning

Prof Curtis is such a nice man! He really knows his stuff. I had a difficult time on my 2 tests and so he offered to help me by going to his office hours and he really helped! He is a very nice man and is not judgmental or opinionated whatsoever. Lots of information and attendance is a MUST since 80% of his test are off of them.

Simple class: You go there, take notes, and read the book. 70% of the tests are from the notes and 30% from the book. Only 3 exams (including the final) and they are pretty detailed! Don't worry about grading, he's very lenient and if you ever need help, office hours are amazing, go few days prior to the exam.

2 exams and noncumulative final. 70-80% of questions on exams are from lecture (diff from book). the rest comes from the pages he assigns to read. max 100 pages to read per exam. pay attn to details like pop. size and proper names of the 5 pillars of islam. big curve at end! I shouldve gotten a B or lower but ended with an A
