Doesnt follow syllabus. Gives out LONG tests that are impossible to finish in the hour you are given, you are allowed to have notes though. There is a group project at the end. Never grades work on time. Felt like I never learned anything in class and definitely never touched my textbook

Very difficult class considering it's only a Gen Ed class. He makes it way harder than it needs to be. You practically have to call him to grade your assignment. He doesnt follow the syllabus so don't bother looking at it. Tests are also ridiculous. He gives out very LONG questions you have to answer in less than an hour, purely ridiculous. Avoid.

Don't believe the hype Dr. Carroll is an amazing instructor. He gives you exactly what you want out of his courses. If you do nothing you get nothing, if you want an A you will get an A. He is ALWAYS available to answer questions and is extremely knowledgeable in his field.

he is the absolute worst professor i have ever had! he does not utilize class time effectively, he says the test problems are like the hw and they are not, you can't find any answers in the book. makes me want to go to another school to graduate.

This was a great class. There is a large project due at the end, but Dr. Carroll does guide you through it. His knowledge of this field is extremely helpful with the real work world and on the CPA exam.

I actually thought he was a good professor. I had him for multiple classes and when you had a question, he was more then willing to stop and explain everything. I agree - the projects are very difficult.

Financial Management. This class was rediculous. Take it with someone else. He does not clearly teach it. The tests take 3+ hours and are impossible to figure out. You will not get an A on the tests. The class is utterly boring.

Dr. Carroll's assignments are tough, but use the course material. A fair professor, just participate and work hard, so when you present, he will already have a high opinion of you. (Gives one of the toughest projects I've ever had!)

This professor really wants you to think. Yes, he is extremely difficult, if you think you are going to use the textbook to learn, you likely won't. He uses real-world accounting examples to teach. For his project -- Use a real company, not the book example!!! It will really make a major difference in your grade! As well as in your future!

It is really too bad he is the only auditing professor at GCU. Especially because Auditing is a big part of the CPA exam. Don't count on learning anything from him. He has very subjective grading and he is extremely unclear on what he wants.

He knows his stuff and is willing to impart it at length :-) Seriously, if you're having a hard time and let him know about it he'll do what it takes so thst you better understand the course material. He has high standards, but in the long run that's not a bad thing.

Comment:

Challenging but fun. The use of class participation of real-world accounting/ethics matters (Enron, WorldCom) made this class and all the work a lot of fun. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed each class.
