Taking this class was the worst mistake of my college career. This professor singled me out and treated me poorly. I showed up to class everyday, even though I was commuting from the Bay Area. I did the work. To this day I do not know what I did to make him treat me that way.

Comment:

Easy class if you're there everyday to take his notes and you're a good memorizer. Fist test you need to memorize 100 answers, 50 for the next two. In class term paper. Fascinating subject, but don't expect to engage in classroom discussions about religion, Dr. Lane does all the talking. Too much emphasis on Sioux religion though.

You HAVE to be there every day because his lectures are essential. I fell asleep for five minutes ONE day and got a C on one of the tests for it. But everything else, if you study the lectures you'll do perfectly. Super simple and straight-forward. He's a bit boring and has no humor or personality, but it's not too bad.

he is a nice teacher who knows his stuff. all you do is memorize answers, and take the test. if you keep up with the reading and assignments, you can get a good grade. it's an interesting class that is not difficult. you don't need to know religion before taking the course.

This class is a waste of time, and a joke. Take this class and professor if you have to complete a Theme C class.Had group assigments that was open book. The bad thing is you have to have a good memory to do good on his test. YOu have to learn 100 something questions and he only tests 10. Final was 2 questions, yes or no question.

The teacher just reads from his notes, and does not want questions from students. At the end of class with less than 20 minutes left wants a one page written report on the theories he taught in class applied to another theory he taught in class. He also not friendly when you meet him in his office for help

I would have liked this class better if he engaged the class in more discussion rather than simply making us copy down his notes and memorize his "answers" to regurgitate later for the test. He makes a very intresting subject tedious. Not especialy hard, it's sad just annoying and sad that he won't allow the students to contribute to the discussion

RUUUUUUUUNNNN!!!!! If you want to get a brainwashing then go ahead and take him. It seems like if only his views are correct and where is the discusions? It seemed whenever someone had a contradicting belief he would shut them down. If you like playing memorization games, then he is the one to take, thats all you do. Horrible professor.

Excellent Teacher! Trust me on this, EASY A, and he's VERY fair and considerate when it comes to grading. I don't know waht's up with those people below who dislikes him. Definitely the best RELS 325 teacher.
