I am honestly surprised that his rating is so low on here. Mr Wetzel is a great math teacher. He is very chill and also teaches very well. I am personally good at math but he also explains everything well for people who are struggling. Showing up to class is very important so you'll know the material but other than that this class is an easy A/B!

Comment:

I couldn't access his online course for the two week span and couldn't access ANY of the class assignments. He gave me a day to study and finish 6 assignments even after updating him by email. He doesn't care about the situation. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I won't lie, I had to work hard for even just a B. I'm already pretty bad at math, but I chose Mr. Wetzel for Stats based on a recommendation. He's like most college professors, work and show him you care and are ready to work hard, and you'll do fine, even if you're not a natural with math. DON'T SKIP CLASS, you'll regret it.

Tests are very difficult! You better NOT ask him any questions or to work out problems you got wrong on a test. He told me"I give you the answer, it's up to you to find it". I pay him to answer questions not google! I only got a B in this class bc the final is worth 2 test grades and replaces your lowest (btw we could use a notecard for the final)

Don't miss class because you'll miss something important. He takes attendance the minute class starts. You really have to put the work in yourself. Show your work on the test cause he will give you points. He is not much help, does not really like when you ask questions, he expects you to just know the material.

He is a really good teacher, you just have to work for the grade. The class is hard, but he is very specific in his notes and the online homework isn't hard. His tests are hard , but it's usually pretty clear on what is going to be on the test. He gives study guides and goes over them in class. He counts attendance the minute the class starts.

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS ONLINE. He has videos he uses and tells students to seek help on campus rather than help them himself. I learned more content through youtube videos that weren't by him. He moves too fast in the videos and doesn't fully explain when to do a step or when not to.

I've taken two classes with him now, and he's great if you hold up your end- he has no time for childishness or excuses. He expects students to be adults and is very clear about expectations. His notes and lectures are well-organized, and he explains the material well. Come to class, pay attention, do the work expected of you, and you'll do fine.

Professor Wetzel is a good teacher. As long as you show up to class and pay attention and go over the notes he gives you, you'll be okay. He is a really good teacher, and explains the subject very well. He does call people out though for being on their phones or sleeping in class. When he is teaching, pay attention and you should pass.

Wetzel takes off a few points when he can tell that you understand the concept of the problem, but did not get it completely correct. Take notes! He will tell you what is important for the test. Wetzel class notes are better to study than the MyStatLab. Final exam is a combination of all unit tests. Extra is available alot! He responses fast.

Professor was completely inaccessible. Would not reply to your e-mails if you had the wrong "tone." No lectures, everything was strictly through Pearson's MyMathLab. Didn't use D2L, so no class participation either. Didn't even use the MTC textbook. The only reason I got an A was knowing the material beforehand. I feel for those who didn't.

Please be aware that he has lectures recorded and posted on YouTube. I bombed the first test with an 18 because I did not realize that was there. There are also short answer questions on the test. Make sure to study

This guy is freaking awesome. If you want a real teacher who doesn't waste time this is your guy. Do what he says, practice and study his unit reviews and there is no way you can fail. To everyone saying he doesn't like questions I'm not sure where you're getting that. He's always available to help and goes above and beyond! LOVE THIS GUY!!

I can not understand why people are giving him such a hard time, if you do the work and do exactly what he say youll be fine. Getting anything lower than a 85 in his class is rediculous, he's a good professor. Just STUDY and do the practice problems he gives you. I ended up with a 94 in his class!

the WORST math teacher ever. Do NOT take him. He is self centered, he hates when you ask him questions, he expects you to know the information right when it comes out of his mouth, he is a hard grader. Ive never got lower than a b in math except for his class .

If taking the class online you won't hear much from Wetzel, but his video lectures are great, the course work is not too hard and you can work ahead. Beware of the final, there are not study materials and it is very hard. Keep a list of formulas you need to know!
