Comment:

Dr. Tyler is not only an amazing professor but also an overall great person. He always laughs at his own jokes and is so enjoyable to have as a professor. He makes it a point to get to know every student in his class and remembers every detail about you. His class is a lot of work, but if you study a lot for exams you will do fine!

Comment:

Great prof! Tyler knows so much, and he's a good lecturer. Class is mostly lecture, sometimes he does group discussion too. Uses lecture handouts, so it's really easy to structure your notes. Exams are essay format, also hands out a question list too. BE SURE TO READ SOURCE BOOK - very important for exams. Fair grader, but wants lots of detail!

I only took one class from him. It was to fulfill my final religion gen ed requirements. I was a history major so why not take the history of Christianity? Not only did I learn a lot in his class, he has quite a knack of remembering student names. I graduated nearly 10 years ago and he still remembers me by name each time Ive gone to visit campus.

Dr. Tyler is hands-down one of my favorite professors at Hope. He's the reason I decided to switch my major to Religion. He's absolutely hilarious and makes learning what would normally be boring really really fun. There is a lot of reading, but the exams are pretty straight forward and not too hard to pass well.

I love him. The class is hard for sure, but so are all REL 200 classes. Lots of reading but tests are very straightforward and you learn SO much. Tyler is incredible and totally worth having, he loves his students and cares so much.

One of my favorite professors who I had for History of Christianity and The Reformation. He really knows what he's talking about and you learn a lot from his classes. Do be prepared to work though - his classes aren't easy, but they're worth it!

My favorite prof at Hope. He is passionate about what he teaches and is always willing to help students. He's very approachable and such a nice guy. You have to work for an A but it is possible, and totally worth it.

He's a great prof with tons of information. If you are just looking to fill a general education requirement, then don't take this class because it's a lot of work. For those determined people, and religion majors...go for it! He's a great guy and will help you if you need it. I really enjoy his class.

Professor Tyler is an awesome professor and is extremely intelligent in his field of study. You will learn a lot from him if you just pay attention and show interest in what he's teaching. This class is awesome and expands your view on the history of Christianity. It's thought provoking, interesting, and fun! Just try it and see for youself!

One of Hope's finest professors! He is sort of liberal, which I am not. BUT the best thing is he really respects your opinion and allows you to express it. He doesn't tell you that you are wrong. I would love to take antoehr class with him.

I had him for Healing, Dying, Thriving...by FAR the BEST BEST BEST class I took while at Hope...it was a graet way to end my senior year there. I would take his senior sem if you are lucky enough to get in!! :)

My wife and I are both Hope grads and both agree that Prof Tyler is one of Hope's finest. His classes were challenging and fun. Disregard the low rating from the disgruntled student.
