She needs to change the way she teaches. I loved writing before this class and now I question whether or not its right for me. I have always gotten As and Bs on essays and she graded me so harshly that I almost failed her class. She was always late on grading and gave no respectful feedback.

This instructor is late getting graded material back to you, so it is unclear how you are doing in the class. She is a tough grader and her remarks do not match the grade she gives you. She spends a lot of time giving you material you do not need. (constant links to mindful meditation in a writing class) I am not impressed overall.

Dr. J is a kind, inquisitive professor. Some writing topics are difficult or require much reading, but they're stimulating. If you engage, you will grow from the class. My experience with her grading style is completion of the criteria means an A-. Going beyond results in an A+. My final grade, .12% below an A, was considered because I worked hard.

When I first started this course I was a bit nervous since I had never taken college classes before, but with Her I became more confident in my writing I was looking for a professor who could push me beyond what I thought I could achieve. She is knowledgeable & caring.

I was expecting this class to be a simple writing class that I could easily get an A on. I was wrong. Most of my writing classes didn't require me to get help outside of class like this one did. I struggled with some of the topics given for essays. That being said, I do feel as if my writing has improved a good amount from taking this class.

Her feedback on assignments is fantastic, which allowed me to improve with each paper. Overall, I was pleased with how she in

Dr. J is a wonderful teacher with strategic assignments that help you be inspired, generate ideas, form your essays, and revise your essays multiple times. I myself taught for several years and I am now a returning student; I truly understand how some students would perceive a teacher's efforts to help you polish your writing as excessive homework.

Dr. Von Ammon was probably my favorite teacher this semester. She gave good feedback, was positive, motivational, and clear about her expectations for our assignments. She also allowed us to be creative and really think for ourselves, which was awesome. 10/10, would take again.

I've never had such a rudely critical teacher. When grading your essay, I feel she pays more attention to missing punctuation and misspelled words more than she actually pays attention to the emotion and detail of the piece.

I found her to be a great professor. She's a tough grader but you learn a lot. You have to be willing to put the extra effort in though. It will take up a lot of your time, but it's worth it. I learned a lot from her in writing 115 and 121. I would definitely take her again.

Lots of homework but if you write it all down at the beginning of the week you can usually get it done in a couple days. Responds quickly through message system. Very understanding of technical malfunctions. I reccomend online, though do not take if you can't read fast. The textbook was cheap ($60 rent)

If you want an A, you WILL go to the Writing Center and see a tutor, even if you are already an experienced writer. I'm a published writer and I've been at it for a decade. I needed to go to the Writing Center. You do too. You will need to work hard for an A in this class. GO TO THE WRITING CENTER.

I'm an "A' student and when I received a B- on something I asked for feedback on why I got such a bad grade and her response was "I don't give out A's". Very rude and demoralizing. Unclear grading criteria so you can't "improve" according to her standards. I thought that her job was to "teach" not belittle students. Worst professor ever.

Tons of work. Little or no feedback. She finishes grading papers at her leisure so weeks go by before you have any feedback. Cancels office hours and ignores emails. Cool materials and assignments. Would be nice to have more feedback from instructor.

Very slow on feedback. Does not teach just assigns papers. Expects students to grade each other. Rude in emails if she answers them at all. Terrible experience. Tons of students dropped the class. I should have too but I had financial aid and needed the class.
