Comment:
Jim did not put in much effort for the class. The notes were poor, and many things were not explained. His assignments were not sufficiently explained, and he did not give good feedback. He packed in too much content for the course, as it should be an introduction to AI.

The only instructor who are not willing to help students during my 4 years university life. However, he can't even explain his own slides and textbook questions properly in class. Get ready to teach yourself.

Comment:
His lectures are average. Biggest problem is he doesn't like answering questions. Often times, he gives non-answers, shrugs, walks away, and tells us "that should explain enough", which it clearly logically doesn't. I sense a hint of animosity or condescendence from him, or perhaps it's just a manifestation of his lack of passion towards teaching.

1. Not accessible after class. Gives non-answers and will walk away from you. Quite rude 2 Lectures are theoretical with little examples. The examples given are a mess 3 Marking is terrible 4 Unresponsive to email 5 Changes assignments after they were given without notifying 6 Struggled to provide solutions in class to his own test AVOID HIM

Jim is paid 6 figures to do squat. His lectures are boring ; reads from his slides and gives no examples. He covers concepts and not applications but his assignments and exams are all about applications. The guy could barely solve his own midterm in class; man's not helpful. For those wanting to take 310, don't take it with Jim.

Comment:
Lectures were dry and unorganized. Easy concepts were made difficult due to overly complex explanations, and some of the terns used seemed specific to the course as it was impossible to find other definitions. TA marked very hard and did not provide any feedback. There was a very low class average. Would not take another class with him.

Comment:
Lectures were extremely dry. Examples were very few and far between making the material difficult to grasp right away. Did not seem interested in teaching by any stretch of the imagination. On the last day before the final, cancelled his office hours without notice and responded to my coming there with questions with "Too bad"

this is more like an english class, you learned nothing eventually because your main responsibility is to hard memorize 1000 pages of logically unrelated notes and hope that he won't ask you something outside the notes.

Ah, Jim Delgrande. Makes simple concepts appear much more difficult because of his lack of explanations and practical examples. He's a bit like a terrible technical writer doesn't understand his audience's level of knowledge, and doesn't care to. Don't expect to get more than a "check the textbook" answer to in-class questions. Avoid him.

Jim's lectures in general are pretty chill and exams are straightforward as long as you do all the assignments. He might not be the best person you would want to ask for help right after class since he usually wants to leave and go back to his office probably. But when I had questions and emailed him, he always replied me within the same day.

well, i d say that his materials are easy. but the way he taught us is very confusing and hard. he maybe a good problem solver, but not a good teacher. he can be very harsh on a sem and then very nice on the next. and unluckily i was on the harsh one

Dr. Delgrande is a good teacher and the class was quite interesting. I learned a lot about AI (something I knew nothing about before) and got introduced to functional programming too. The lectures in his class are very valuable. Definitely worth going to.

He uses his hypnotising voice to read his slides, and make you sleep like a baby. Which, all the slides you can just read them by yourself! I had been studying myself and stopped going to his lectures. And i got all perfect on my assignments, with help from my expert friend. Lecture is boring as an English course or even worse. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!

An average professor. This class was pretty straightforward, nothing too difficult other than getting used to Racket which isn't a big deal. Nice guy too. He can be a bit scattered in his thoughts but he does know the subject. Would recommend.

The best class was when he was sick and a TA covered for him. This prof cannot explain anything. But he marks harshly! For assignments, if you make it perfectly you get 8/10, and you only get 10/10 if you make it more than is required. How can students guess what he wants??? His midterm was too long for the time, also.

He teaches from the textbook and uses slides from the textbook, which is fair. The problem is, the assignments are all about functional programming in Scheme which has nothing to do with the course topic and isn't covered in the textbook at all! He also barely covered this in the lecture. He's made an interesting course agonizing by doing this.
