This guy knows his stuff, if you're interested in criminal law Mr. Phillips is the teacher you want. I Learned more in one class then i have in my entire time at UAB studying criminal justice. Be warned, if you dont attended every class and take scrupulous notes you will not pass his class.

This was the best class I've had at UAB!! It was challenging, interesting, and very worth-while. Expect to work hard for your grade, he doesn't make things easy, but he's a really nice guy. People seem to understand him completely or not at all - if you're willing to work and think, you'll be fine.

Phillips is one of the best to teach this course, he's hard because he wants you to learn the material..If you come to class each time and keep up with your readings and take good lecture notes you can make an A or B easily.

This is a very very hard class. I'm a JS major and love it. And this is the only class I've ever had to repeat. It's A LOT of material and he warns you ahead of time that his tests are design to trick you. All of the answers will seem right, but of course only one is. Oh and a warning... he has an attendance policy. You can only miss 3 classes.

I went in this class thinking it would be so hard and that I wouldnt pass it. But overall, Dr. Phillips is a great teacher. If you are a slacker and do not like to come to class, I suggest you dont take his course. But, if you are eager to learn about law Dr. Phillips is your man!!!
