Worst part of class is memorizing equations for tests. You don't get a formula sheet. He has pre-recorded videos to supplement studying. Not a fun class, but not a terrible one either.

His classes are pretty boring, but I don't know of a physics class that would be super exciting. His practice tests are just like the actual tests. He hardly ever gave hw. One time our class as a whole did badly on a test & he let us retake it- same test just different numbers. I think for a physics class, he gives you a fair chance of getting an A

I absolutely love Dr. Johnson, he's such a sweet older man. However, his class is pretty boring. Although his tests are very easy if you do the practice tests that he gives you. They're identical basically!

I don't know what these other people's problem is. His teaching style is him related physics to everyday life so that way you can learn the material and apply it to harder physics. I thought he was awesome, take the practice test, go to class, take awesome notes and you will get an A.

Absolutely Horrible! He sucks at teaching and is just at this universtiy for research! I learned absolutely nothing and made an A. All I did was memorize previous test and QRECT(HW)! He rambles about irrevalent subjects. He honestly should be banned from teaching (he is that bad)! His class is pretty easy if you know the right people!

Johnson is the worst teacher I've ever had. He is arrogant and obviously did not want to teach this class. He makes students memorize all the equations, and there were many mistakes on his tests. I did not at all get the feeling that he wanted us to learn: he just wanted to get in and get out. I will be filing an official complaint with USC.

such a sweet man! he knows a lot!! i listened to him ramble on about a bunch of random stuff that i didnt get. i literally had no idea what was going on in lecture. I have made A's on all the test because they are EXACTLY like the practice test. he isnt really that boring either, pretty nice and funny guy!

SO easy to talk to. pay attention, go to class, do a practice test or two and youll be alright. go see him in his office every now and then and hes more likely to curve your grade at the end

Teaches everything you need to know for the exams during lectures. Do not buy the textbook. Just attend lecture and write down everything he says. Attendance is important because he puts random things he talked about on the exams.

I didn't go to class at all this semester. Friends who did said they hated going, and never understood what he was talking about. But, like in 201, his practice exams are just like the real exams so you learn stuff that way. You can exempt the final (go to class after the 4th exam) which is nice during finals week.

He teaches you what you need to know for the test and then talks about other interesting things that you might actually use in your life. Sometimes test questions can be tricky, but if you memorize the equations then you can probably make an A. Make sure you have an A so that you do not have to take the final!

You'll learn some physics, but mostly he talks about the stock market, random science, and his iPhone. Take him, only because everyone else sucks, and his practice tests are like the exams.

His practice tests help a lot. Somehow I know the material, but I'm not sure how. He rambles on about the most random things in class, wasn't helpful to friends who met with him in his office, but he's easy and is the best teacher for Physics (which isn't saying much at all). Take him, but only because there's no other options.

Go to class, read his outlines, and do the practice tests he puts up on his website. Doing this gets most students A/B range. I recommend him over the other physics profs, and I'm not even good at physics.

Really nice guy! As long as you go to class, you can make good grades. Practice tests are almost identical to the real tests. He explains concepts well and I would def. recommend him.

Johnson is pretty terrible at teaching the material, but he tries very hard (puts lectures online, makes notes etc). Usually goes over test examples the class before exam. Tests are picky but it's easy to make an A, just know the formulas and dates etc. Gives extra credit, CAPA is ec too. Posts grades soon after tests- most people got A/Bs.

He is really bad at teaching and makes everyone learn random material that shows up on the exam. Unless you can teach yourself physics I would not recommend taking him.

I hate physics so this class was my worst. He is not a good teacher, but not for lack of effort. Knows his stuff, but cannot explain it very well. Very nice! DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS! GO TO CLASS because he talks about random stuff that will be on the test! Gives tons of extra credit opportunites that you will need if you want an A or B in this class.

This is the most confusing professor ever!! He acts like its your fault if you don't understand something the very first time he says it. His tests have numbers but no units. He gives extra credit but only if you choose to take his final (exempting was optional)! Would never take him again or recommend him to anyone!
