This guy is one of the best teachers at ASU. He is very interesting and very passionate about what he teaches. His material is very in depth and interesting and his tests come directly from his lectures and he gives you a study guide :) Mostly an easy A.

Professor Johnson is passionate and has a lot of involvement and experience with several human rights orgs, so his Holocaust class was very interesting and informed. The readings are interesting, the videos are honest and the best method for this class, readings about this subject just don't do it. I would take another class w/ him. Loved it!

Prof. Johnson has a unique way of teaching. He does not use traditional methods such as lecture/take notes. He likes visuals including documentaries. I think this method for his classes works best. One the first day of classes, it is established that film is the primary media used. Overall, he is very knowledgeable and his class is very interesting

I took the Holocaust/Genocide course expecting to learn a great deal more than I already know, and I was shocked to find out that all we did was watch movies. This may be cool to some people, but I go to college to LEARN. We read one book & barely learned about any other human rights conflict aside from the Holocaust and Rwanda. Very disappointed.

He's a really weird teacher but i really enjoyed this class. Serial killer has good and interesting material that you study. The only thing is you really should read the book. Overall he's a good clear teacher but he has the most boring pointless stories. His grading is cool though. like a D is really a C in his class

Great class! Very interesting. Johnson goes over the study guide before the tests. You just have to make sure you read the book, pay attention to the videos, and take notes on what he says.

This is the best class I've taken so far at ASU. Johnson is great. He's really nice and funny and you can tell he knows a lot about this topic. You mostly watch movies and he goes over the study guide so it's definitely possible to get an A you just need to read the textbook. He's a great teacher and it's a really interesting class though!

Amazing class! Incredibly interesting. It consists of just three tests - you HAVE to read the entirety of the textbook and take a fair amount of notes, but classes are just watching interesting movies about serial killers. Johnson tries to make jokes but is otherwise a super nice guy. He gives study guides and goes over the answers of all tests.

Must not have been thrilled to teach an online class. Absolutely NO interaction the entire semester. NO input, not a word. Simply read a chapter a wk and submit a summary. NO feedback on grades. Not even a 'welcome to class' or 'see ya' message posted. OK if you are good at working alone. Pretty useless if you'd like some instruction/have question.

JUS 200 is the most interesting class I've ever taken. Go to class because Dr. Johnson writes facts on the board and you watch really engaging videos. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEXTBOOK. There are usually a lot of questions from the book on the test. Do the extra credit! This is an easy class if you go and read the book!!

Class is really interesting but not something you can sleep through and get an A. You watch movies daily and towards the end of the semester he lectures and gives a lot of his opinions. He's very experienced and dedicated to justice studies and the class is so interesting! His curve is also great & he offers extra credit.
