Comment:

One of the best professors at MDC. I took her for ENC1101 and ENC1102. There is a short quiz at the beginning of every class but she lets you use the book and work in groups. Only 4 essays in the semester and she grades easily. She's the sweetest professor ever and if she taught another class I would take it too.

Comment:

Professor LaGuerre is awesome! She is your very standard, basic teacher that just expects you to have your assignments done, and ON TIME. (This is a typical expectation from a teacher.) She gives you a reasonable amount of time for your essays (which are the biggest parts of the course) and she helps you with every little thing you need!

Comment:

Quiz every class you walk in, tough grader has no mercy for your grade. Must come to class you can be in a car accident and she will still give you a zero for anything you missed that day which was probably 2 quizes and a group assignment. No teaching really involved rather than just make you read pages of the textbook for a quiz next class on it.

Professor Laguerre was very nice and sweet, she would clarify any questions we had. Really made my first semester at MDC amazing! Just wish she would go over essay expectations a little more. But she's great!

Prof. Laguerre was such a sweet woman!! She was the first college professor I met and she definitely made the semester a great one. She gave us a few essays over the course of the semester with plenty of time and the necessary preparation for each one as well. I'm taking her again for ENC1102 cause I really liked her!

Comment:

My ENC1101 professor and previous professors have always told me I am a strong writer and I can develop papers easily but this professor made me feel as if I had no idea how to write a simple college paper. She has no mid- term which was great and her final is a paper on one of the short stories. Good Luck!

Online class: Follow rubric on EVERYTHING and you'll be fine. No midterm, proctored final essay on the readings for 3rd module (short stories). Book is not essential, rent it online for cheaper (super expensive). Only thing you'll use is the section near the end for APA/MLA documentation/lots of examples. Quizzes are short and easy (if you read).

Comment:

Good professor, assignments were easy if you do all the reading necessary in all the modules. I really appreciated the feedback she would provide on the essays and tips for improvement. Only negative would be that compared to the other class I was taking simultaneously, the course and modules set up was really confusing and all over the place.

I have her right now for ENC1101 and to be honest I haven't really learned much. Maybe because classes was 50 minutes but still. We have major essays and she's very clear on what she wants. I haven't gotten any better at writing essays though. I guess we're already supposed to know :'(. But yea she's very sweet and charming and helpful.

I had Miss Laguerre for ENC1101. She knew what she was doing and everything about her class was very well organized. Not a tough grader but if you miss even 1 class you'll be completely lost after that. She doesn't really "teach" you how to write per say she kinda expects you to either know the material or learn it on your own time.

This professor lays out every assignment and its worth to your final grade. We had 4 modules, each had an essay, 2-3 discussions, and 3-4 mini quizzes. No midterm or final. She is tough on grading essays but gives excellent feedback as to what is expected. The 4th essay is actually not required, it is an extra credit opportunity.

Online class was not easy but she is very fair with her grading, just make sure to follow directions & the rubric. The discussions were very easy & she allows you to take the quizzes 2x. there was a total of 3 essays & an extra credit one. all essays must be submitted on time otherwise you'll lose points. It was an ok class. Earned a 97%

I can honestly say that this professor is SO FAIR with her grading. You will earn an A in the essays you do if you follow her rubric. We did 6 essays & she even allowed for students to redo one essay & she also dropped the lowest essay grade. She had students work in groups and we did a presentation and essay together. She is so sweet & nice.

I dont understandwhy some people have said so many negative things about this Professor.This class was not hard at all as long as you completed your work on time. She gives you an extra credit opportunity but I didn't need to complete because I ended up with a B,it wouldn't have boosted a whole letter grade. I took online and I would recommend her.
