Dr. Owino is one of my favorite professors at UTC. His class is hard, but I learned so much. He works plenty of examples in class, but takes the time to make sure you understand what's going on, and to help you think through strategies for solving similar problems that you may encounter on homework and tests.

Dr. Owino is amazing. Make no mistake vector statics is a hard class and with him the homework is a grind but he makes every opportunity to allow you chances to correct and improve you great. He also really knows his stuff. Take him for any class you can.

Owino makes this class very enjoyable and genuinely wants his students to succeed. The class in a spin off of Vector Statics and starts to apply more engineering skills. Great professor. Highly recommend him for structural.

Great teacher. Knows his stuff and conveys it well. It's a hard class, but it's engineering so that's to be expected. Gives lots of partial credit on tests (I got all four answers wrong on one problem and I still got 1215) and allows a sheet of notes. Teaches directly from the book. has a slight accent but you'll understand him day two. Take him!

Owino is a great teacher! works lots of examples, is very clear about what he expects and and says exactly what to study for the tests, where he also allows one page of notes. Even with that the tests can be hard, but the material is hard so that's to be expected. His accent is easy to understand and he's an all-around likeable guy. Take him!

Dr. Owino was a very good teacher. Very clear and gives lots of examples when presenting new concepts, and then works a lot of problems in class. His tests were hard, but I did well on them because I studied. The homework was almost impossibly hard, but I still did well. Bumped my grade up because I asked questions and went to office hours.

Owino is a very good teacher. He explains things thoroughly and usually hints at what problems will be on the tests. The homework sets are the hardest part of the class, but the tests are not too bad. You get to correct all your homework, tests, and quizzes to get half the points back, and he also gives extra credit.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. He lectures well. His homework and tests can be challenging, but he grades well and gives partial credit. He is very helpful answering questions in class and outside of class. I wish I could have taken more than two classes from him. I definitely recommend this teacher.

The post below is iognorant..He doesn't favor minorities, im white and he likes me pretty well. Probably one of the best teachers in the Engineering department, and as far as choosing favorites, if you go to his office and ask questions and get some face time it helps a lot. I would recommend him for any class.
