I've had him for 3-4 classes so far. Great man with a lot of real life experience. Doesn't always finish examples he starts working. The first 2-3 questions on tests are straight from homework/textbook examples and the last one is always a Tennessee Jones problem (one he makes up and draws the picture for) that one is a little harder but not bad

Nice guy... Can't teach statics. Literally just reads out of the textbook during class, and will work the same problem multiple times throughout the week due to his age.

Dr. Jones is a very smart man, and obviously has a passion for physics and engineering in general. However, due to his age it seems that problem solutions can elude him during class. There have been several instances where he was stumped on a problem and decided to skip it. Tests are easy, if you do the homework. Helps people during tests.

mike jones is an awesome person, but I'm afraid he is getting too old...tests are straight from homework problems, class is him going over hw problems which he never completely solves and then starts rambling. take if you can teach yourself thru the text book. don't take if you want to actually learn from a professor

Dr. Jones is very helpful when you come to his office, and will work through homework problems with you. Homework doesn't count for much of the grade. There's a lot of material in the class and he stresses using the books appendix for table values. He grades fair, but you get the grade you earn (no extra points or bonus points).

Jones is a pretty good professor to take. He tends to ramble some during class and doesn't always finish problems, but his tests are pretty easy. The tests are completely open note/book, so you can use your homework problems and class notes which is very helpful. Ask questions DURING the tests because he practically gives you the answer.

Awesome teacher. Will help you understand and work through a problem even if its on the test. Calls you names if you ask or show something in your equation that is stupid, however, does it in a joking manner. Really nice old man, taking him again for 1040.

Best engineering teacher I have encountered so far. He is funny and can also lay down the law when needed. All tests were open book and not to hard. Highly recommended.

He works problems very slowly and has a bad habit of forgetting to actually solve the problems he starts. He never actually goes over the chapter the class is on, he simply starts working problems about the chapter and tries to explain why he's working the problems but doesn't do a very good job. Don't take him if you don't have to.

Before he had his year off he was good. Ever since he's been back however he hasn't been. He's a nice enough man, but if you want to be taught, don't take him. Especially if you learn thru asking questions. He never answers the question you ask and you leave the class more confused than when you came in. Take someone else if you wanna learn physics

Excellent guy, inside and outside of class! This is one of the best teachers at UTC. His tests are just like the homework. This class was the most fun I had in any of my general engineering classes. His test were kinda fun too, thanks to "Tennessee Jones".....his superhero. Take Jones for anything!!
