Comment:

A really nice professor and a really chill class, but didn't teach us much about research methods. Unfortunately, the class is very international student unfriendly and focuses a lot on examples from US politics ONLY. I heard you should always get her feedback before turning in the final draft, but what do I know? I didn't get an A

Comment:

Professor Dolan is super nice, very willing to help out, and is very easy to access and approach outside of the classroom. It is also clear that she is very knowledgable about the things she teaches and writes about. Just an overall pleasant human-being.

Comment:

Professor Dolan really cares about the well-being of the students in her class. There are multiple times when she changed the due date of a paper because many of us had exams on the day they were due. She is a tough grader but she does help one out to perfect the paper. Read the articles before class because her classes are participation heavy.

A decent enough professor, but her methods course is as fun as watching paint dry. This coupled with her bizarre grading for exams made this my least favorite class at Macalester. Not recommended!

Comment:

Dolan is such a great prof. She's the department chair at present, so she's very busy, but still makes time for private meetings outside of office hours. So far her methods class is incredibly easy, and she tries to make a very, VERY boring (and sadly mandatory) subject as fun as possible. If you have to take a methods course, take it with her.
