lectures are unstructured and tangent heavy. wanted to love this class but felt the focus was more on personal anecdotes than content. instructions are unclear and I was bombarded with texts from other students asking for help. had to drop this class for sake of my mental health. several panic attacks. grading system is absolutely discouraging.

Comment:

Not very empathetic for being a sociology professor. Covid-19 showed her true colors as a teacher and honestly it wasnt pleasant. I learned almost nothing in her class because she was so focused on giving us more work than when we actually were in class. She grades like a nazi even during tough times.

difficult teacher. Do all the work right and how she asked and she will still find some reason to deduct points (for example:wrong heading). Do not recommend to anyone. Save yourself and take a different teacher. And if you do decide to take her class, expect to be kicked out of the class if she sees your phone out.

Comment:

I took Socio1 in the Fall and when I was on winter break I checked my grade on Canvas and I had a C+ but when I checked my unofficial transcript I had an F. When I confronted her about it she immediately placed the blame on myself and the admissions and records office, when thats not the case SHE is in charge of grading her students properly.

Comment:

She is one of the most invested teachers I've ever had. Sometimes the instructions to her assignment s can be unclear, but all you have to do is ask. She mostly tells you exactly what you should do to pass the class. The resources are there, you just have to do the work. Honestly, just listen to the advice she gives because she genuinely cares.

Worst teacher ever! She doesn't go over assignment assume you understand it on your own, also doesn't specify what she wants. Extra credit are no help. You will receive a poo-poo grade on every assignment you do. Trust me!

goes off topic, and goes on about her tragic life about not having a husband and how its just her and her dog. her work is unbearable, and whenever you get a few points on an assignment, it lowers your grade. a lot of work and its basically useless in the end. ugh ! take another teacher, shes not a good one. i dont know how she got a job !!

i tried so hard in her class, and did everything she asked for and still didnt receive the grade i deserved. gives zeros on assignments that you worked your ass on, and has unnecessary work that doesnt even help your grade go up. you think you did well on something, but NOPE LOL. definitely DO NOT take her, its pointless. theres better teachers

dont waste your time going to her office hours because she wont even help, so many outlines in so little time and expects you to know everything, leaves unhelpful side notes on graded work, and the list goes on. literally do NOT take her. if you want to pass with an A, she is not the teacher to take.

worst ! teacher ! ever ! i cant even begin to describe how awful she is. no clear instructions, doesnt go over assignments (assumes youll understand it on your own) , doesnt specify exactly what she wants, grades extremely stupid, extra credit doesnt help, crazy amount of work given to you and you either get the points or dont.

No coordination whatsoever. I really really tried my best in this class, but once you think you have a grasp on assignments you're two steps behind. The professor was not even organized with giving assignments and frequently added material to canvas which was missing for our projects. I took this class just to try it out and I am regretting it

very knowledgeable and knows how to relate all the topics to real-life things, BUT there is loads and loads of homework. She is very specific and you must turn it in a certain way she wants it or she will give it back to you. Her directions are often very confusing and you are required to bring three copies of your assignments (very unnecessary)

Very confusing teacher whos usually unorganized in her head. Very sweet but very strict on grading and lots of work. She will stop talking every single time someone elses starts whispering which leads us to not getting anything done.

I feel like shes really good , when it comes to quizzes make sure you do all your inquizitives because it helps. For the exams, just do your lecture outlines and youll be good to go. Everything on her lecture outlines are on the exams. Do all your assignments because in the end points add up. She gives out extra credit as well !

Very intelligent teacher but her teaching skills are horrible! Lectures are all over the place . If you can wait to take this subject with another teacher I advise you to do so. Not worth it!

This is one of the hardest classes ever!!! For it to only be a 3 credit class, it feels like a 6 credit class!!! She grades soooo strict and gives so much homework!!! Half of the semester, you will only be able to reach like four chapters and then be tested on chapters you havent learned! Easy Fail, Hard Pass!!!!

I failed the first two test because her lectures werent good at all we went over the same thing daily and when test days came we would all be confused because they were not the same thing we studied for. If shes the only option I suggest you wait because its better getting a good teacher than failing and having to retake again.

Her grading was very confusing lectures are not well planned out she had us drawing the same sociological tree for the first month and was not on test. DONT TAKE HER.! Doing most of the work wont help you even if she provides extra credit. If you miss class and dont keep up with the work you will fail. If shes the only option I suggest you wait

Professor Daniels is really sweet and charming. However, her grading criteria is way out of hand be ready to read and remember LOTS of theories! for exams(2, 100Q)and quizsbut she takes top 3. LOADS of hw!! And she uploads NO grades your in charge of knowing your own grade. Gives extra credit but its unbearable w the amounts of HW. HAVE F(UN) R*

Very nice and engaging person, however her class is just a mess, the materal she "teaches" in class is usuall far behind the work she assigns, for example before the first exam she was talking about chapter 2 in class when the exam went all the way up to chapter 5. Her instructions are EXTREMELY confusing. Be prepared to be your own teacher!!!!
