Kat is without a doubt one of the best teachers I've ever had! She is very knowledgeable about the subject, and you learn so much from her class. She grades on how much you participate in the discussions and how well you do on the papers you write. 6 papers, don't let that scare you away! 5 of them are really short and easy. She is willing to help.

Professor Brown is one of the best professors I have ever had. You will earn your grade, and the workload is great. She is always willing to help and work with you if she sees that you're putting forth the effort. Passionate about her subjects and effectively passes that on to her students. Best professor I have ever had. Kat is wonderful, makes class interesting and is always there to help. She is tough and requires lots of reading and writing but it is so worth it. You will master the topic she teaches because of the work, but she does it to benefit you. I highly suggest taking her just be prepared to work hard!

Definitely worth taking her! She is a tough teacher but you're in college so deal with it! She'll make your writing one hundred times better and she doesn't want you to fail so she works with you. Amazing professor!

Incredible teacher. If you're looking for an easy A though, do not take this class. She will make you work for the grade, and you have to go to class, but it's totally worth it. I love history, but I think even for those who don't, she makes it fun, and helps you connect with the material. Highly recommend her!!

I won' lie, this class kicked my butt. This was a tough class, and writing intensive. I pulled an A- my studying my brains out. It's worth taking at least one class from Professor Brown, but don't load your plate too full that semester. Do all the readings, study hard for the test, and take the writing assigments seriously, and you'll do fine.

The best professor I have ever had. You will have to work hard, no matter what course you take from her, but it will be well worth it. She is a motivating, funny caring teacher, which is very rare. Do the work and keep up with your readings and you will be fine. If you are planning on graduate school she is the best preperation you can get.

Best professor I have ever had! She is interactive and intelligent with the students and she makes history come alive. I would definatly recommend her. You write about one paper a week and then a large paper for the final. If you do the reading and come to class there is no reason you should do poorly.

I took this class last semester. Dr. Brown assigned about one paper a week and a final research paper. It was a great class, very interesting, and she is an amazing teacher. I recommend her to everyone I know.

worst teacher I have ever encountered. She will tear any paper you turn in, she requires nine in this course, to shreds, that is if she bothers to ever grade anything. Every time I left class I felt like I had watched a very bad stand up comedian, complete with tacky voices. Avoid taking any classes from her at all costs.

Kat Brown was a phenomenal teacher! She made time for her students and would always make sure we understood the discussions. She even got funding to take students to do research at the Holocaust Museum in DC. I am a History major because of her and hope to be a college professor myself! This is not an easy A class this is a class you take to learn!

As a professor she's not bad she does know her stuff and doesn't take crap--as long as you don't do anything to piss her off, she's absolutely horrific if you get on her bad side in anyway. Her personal life interferes with her grading/judgment which i never beleived actually happens. She also thinks she's witty and hilarious which gets old fast.

She is great. Hardest teacher I have taken at UVU but definitely worth it. You MUST keep up with the readings & papers. there are 8 three page papers throughout & a final paper at the end of the semester. the finals are hard & usually essay, but if you attend class, it shouldn't be terribly difficult. Very interesting class & she makes it fun.
