Katherine Sherwood is highly knowledgeable in her field of painting and devoted to the understanding of contemporary art practice (I have not taken a disabilities studies course from her). She is a practicing professional artist and an activist in the struggle for students' rights at public universities.

She very often makes references to the spiritual rhelm or makes snark remarks assuming that she is right or everyone is going to agree with her. Amazing professor. Katherine is very helpful and truly loves what she is doing. However, while she may appear passive, she knows which students are hard working and which aren't and does not hesitate in calling said students out in class. Devote the time and you'll do fine.

REALLY unhelpful. projects were mostly busywork. She has a really passive way of teaching where there is little to no technical instruction and really boring slide lectures in a dark room (i.e. naptime). I learned very little and found her criticism light and without any realy opinion.

She is evil!!! She completely has favorites in her classes, and if you're not one of them, watch out! I found her critiques totally unhelpful, and have seen them get out of control and make people cry. There are many better painting profs in the dept.

she is very helpful--especially one on one. will always take time out to meet with you and has a general love for what she does.
