Currently I am taking Professor Brooks for Bio 45 and she is a nice instructor and she also offers help when or if needed ! :) so take adventage guys! every week there are quizzes all you have to do is study ! There is a lot of material to learn since it appears on the exams it is a fun course :)! also take good notes!

Comment:

Loved this course although there was a quiz every week. This teacher offers a lot of extra credit so take advantage. Skip class and you wont pass, there is a lot of material to learn and it is reflected on the tests. Fun course and a lot of hands on.

OMG! Besides Galusky (who was also a horrible teacher when I took him for 2A), Brooks was the worst instructor I've ever had in college! Don't know how she even got through college herself. She uses his PowerPoints/tests and doesn't know the material well enough to teach 2A or 2B. Should've gone with Cryder or Loomis to be ready for nursing.

Comment:

Do not take this professor if you plan on learning something! Her powerpoint are 2-3 years old and she's always unprepared before class. Very forgetful with what she's teaching. She will say things like "don't worry about that long word" then it would be on the exam. With the way she teaches its all on you to teach yourself! STAY CLEAR of her!!

She is a very thorough teacher. Her lectures and power points are key to succeeding in her class and as long as you attend class and take good notes you can do really well in her class. She is also very helpful inside and outside of class. Great teacher!!

A lot of the reviews here are really harsh: she is forgetful, but she's really isn't bad at her job. She made botany engaging and interesting, and although I had a lot of trouble remembering Latin names, it was still a lively hands-on experience. You'll have to study hard for the tests, but the extra credit she gives makes up for the loss.

I took professor Brooks due to only having her available for Amy 2a. What can I say, the rumors are true. She is very disorganized and her power points are not hers. She uses another teacher's notes. Very unclear, her quizzes are very hard &Test are ok the only good things is that she grades on a curve but that does not really help. She often rude.

She was a nice lady, just not the best instructor. She was never sure of what she was talking about. People would ask her questions and she would answer "if you can find the answer for me i'll give you ec." There was no hmwk. The labs were boring and repetative, all youre going to do is look at cells, plant a veggie, and take walks around school.

She really isn't as bad as all her reviews make her out to be. I read her reviews and was worried about not doing well but she's pretty straight forward. just go to class and take GOOD notes. EVERYTHING on the quizes and tests are from the notes. Be pre paired for trick questions. overall i enjoyed her as a professor

She is a good teacher. The material is a little confusing because there's SO much to cover. She is willing to help students when they ask. I'm taking her for 2B in the fall.

She isn't the most organized, but she is knowledgeable. She grades on a huge curve- most of the people in my class that got a C or below basically did nothing. They'd talk throughout lab and ask stupid questions not related to A&P- if you study and work hard she is the easiest A&P teacher you'll ever come across. I got an A, you can too.

Even though I did well in her class, she was one of the worst teachers I've had at RCC. Some of the quizzes and tests contain material she does not go over, and she will often backtalk at some of her students. Also, she can be very difficult to understand and sometimes isn't clear about what she wants for the lab write-ups. Beware and avoid her!

The only down fall to this class is that she is forgetful and unorganized. She is knowledgeable and is very nice. She is also willing to clear things up after class. If you pay attention and take good notes you should do fine. Pretty Easy.

UNORGANIZED, NOT helpful, CONFUSING, LATE, CANNOT answer questions, quizes written day of (literally). Dont ask for help in class cause u will hear I'm not going to answer that now, you can come to office hours. Tests are more trying to figure out wat she is asking rather than testing on the material. Go to a diff prof for help. HORRIBLE, trust.

She is unorganized but knowledgeable. If u pay attention, this class is a breeze. Her personal flaws as a teacher are beneficial to the student. She is forgetful but once reminded shes on it. She does make up tests and extra credit... Easy class!

DO NOT TAKE HER. She is a terrible teacher: disorganized, incompetent, unknowledgeable in her subject, vindictive, and hypocritical. She plays favorites, she delayed the final for an hour and a half, yet ended it at the original time, and she is openly rude to students, especially regarding questions which she seems to regard as a personal affront.

I had her for lab, the only positive is that she is nice. She is ignorant however and admits that she is "stupid" at times... not even kidding - her words. You realize she knows little about Biology and at times seems to make things up. I wish I would've had a more knowledgeable Professor. She creates no interest and you don't have to do the labs.
