Comment:

VERY old. More of a grandmother then a teacher. Looses track of time. Very thick accent so she butchers your name. Takes points off of silly things like if you put an accent in the wrong place.

She is absolutely impossible to understand. If she were teaching in Spanish, her English wouldn't be an issue, but her accent is quite thick. She has a habit of putting things on tests that haven't been learned yet. But she marks things quickly.

Very nice lady, as a teacher, you may find her hard to understand, do call on ppl alot, need to bring all books, plan to do a lot of extra studying to pass! hard marker. had too drop just too much work, couldnt keep up with other things

Duarte's not so bad. Sure, her English is wretched, but she's teaching a SPANISH class, and it's all out of the book anyway. She's a really sweet woman--I think a lot of what she's trying to say gets lost in translation, which is why some people say she's rude. Just show up and read the text book, and you can get a high A.

Stupid teacher, hated her, labeled you good or bad students, any questions asked were given answers that had nothing to do with the question. She gave letter grades & never told us what they meant, marked everything wrong for one little mistake. Her class was awful do not take her class if you want to learn spanish she'll make you hate the language

Biggest problem was her marking. It's not consistant, often using letter grades & # grades. She won't give you a final mark before the final exam. However, she is a nice prof to have if you're willing to do the daily homework & study the textbook yourself.

THAT ****! least favorite prof i have ever had! Very rude, very hard to listen to, very annoying, marks entire sentences wrong if you forget an accent. Loves to give our E's and D's on assignments that were copied straight from the book. I hated her class, and i will never do spanish again.

She doesn't understand a lot of the questions you ask her.and is disorganized at times, ex: a few times she's put stuff on quizzes that were from chapters we never even studied yet. And one day we got a quiz on ch. 6, when we had only done up to ch. 5. Don't come to class without the textbook and prepare your homework cuz she calls on people a lot.

If you are willing to work, then you will do fine! You can't give half marks for spelling the word wrong! You either know it or you don't! Study and you will do fine. She is so sweet and always willing to help; She is genuinly concerned; just go to her after class and you'll see!

She is very nice and seems concerned but I find that her marking scheme is totally out of whack. I recommend getting a rubrix before you take this course to help you understand where the "E-"(???) is coming from.

Nice personality but that dosen't make her a great prof! I found her very uninterested and not helpful. She loves the students that are doing well and doesn't have time for the ones that may need the extra help. Too old and tired to teach.

she's definitely the grand-mother type & a very nice lady. however she doesn't have a grasp on english the same way some of the other spanish profs do. i'd recommend escobar for someone picking up spanish. he's a lot easier to understand.
