Kathy is a great person, mediocre prof. Her lectures are the usual, but you must buy the book to pass the class because she doesn't cover everything in the exams. Group work sucks, so I don't recommend that class, only if you don't mind working extra hard for your grade. Also, make sure to talk to her, because she's rarely clear about expectations.

Pretty much our entire class agreed that she isn't clear about class expectations. She acts laid back about things, however, once she grades she assumes that we know to do certain things that were never made clear in regard to group assignments. The exams arent bad and are straight forward in relation to her review guide. Exams have extra credit.

Kathy was amazing! One of the best at EMU. I actually enjoyed going to her class. She made class very interesting. Her tests were open note and very easy. We were given a few essays and basically if you TRIED to do them you will get an A. This class was so easy and fun. =]

Kathy is a really great teacher. Many of the communications professors at EMU simply teach commonsense stuff and then have the nerve to take themselves over seriously. Kathy actually taught our class valuable information and pushed us to be better writers and researchers. Although hard, I appreciated her class and teaching style a lot!

The basics of research is not hard, but putting together your own in a short amount of time can be. She is very willing to help, going to class is mandatory, and the book is required for exams. All around good person, great teacher and a professor I like to take over and over again.
