I don't recommend taking this prof. Every week, we have to read two chapters and go over a 40+ slide PP, and sometimes he even gives us an extra reading. His PP's are voice recorded and they aren't helpful at all. The only good thing is that the grading scale is 80 and above is an A. Don't take this prof if you genuinely want to learn about POLS.

DO NOT TAKE ONLINE. You would think online the quizzes would be easy and probably found on quiz let but nope. Nothing is on quizlet, none of the quizzes or tests are. I had to read so so much and still barely passed. If the other professors are full, just WAIT.

Get ready to read a ton of info that you will never need or be tested on and listen to lectures that are long and boring. They rarely help with passing the tests. He is not very specific with what will be important to study and gives a lot of reading for a freshman class. Take someone else if you can. I'll never take another lecture with him.

Attendance is mandatory but turns into extra credit if you attend all the lectures. Tests are extremely detailed for only an intro course and the review only covers half of the material on the test. Lectures are all random so they dont help much. A lot of reading is assigned and there are weekly online quizzes that are fairly simple

The reviews only cover half the test and the lectures are all over the place. You have to guess what to study for the other half. Tests are 75% of your grade and there is no extra credit. Seriously don't take this class.

He takes attendance for credit but posts everything online so I feel like credit is a ploy to keep students attending his class. Expect lots and lots of reading and tangents of him talking about his life. He knows what he's talking about but POLS just isn't my forte. Study as best as you can lol

Very long and drawn out lectures. Gives mandatory quizzes each week, with over 25 pages of reading. The quizzes are based on the readings specifically, so if you don't read, you don't pass. Learn smart are optional to help you study since he won't give you credit for it. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but if you miss class you'll miss info

Tedin was an OK prof. Long lectures, semi-helpful, took attendance using TopHat. Weekly quizzes over readings. Book was more helpful than the class. He curves the final grades, so as long as you get a 80+, you will be fine. He gets confused by technology (understandably.) Class was a fairly easy A, grading criteria was exactly as syllabus stated.

I took this class as a freshman terrified out my mind. But I did pretty well considering, well, I was a freshman barely passing College Algebra. Maybe it was bc of the 10 POINT EXAM CURVES !!!!!!!!! His lectures are very long and super boring but 10 POINT EXAM CURVE BABAAAYYYY!!! 10-12 page lit review, super hard almost died but 10 POINT CURVE OK

We didn't have many assignments except for weekly quizzes and exams, so if your a bad tester it will affect your grade. He offered a few points for extra credit, but not much.

Professor Tedin is a nice guy. However, his lectures tend to be on material that is not always relevant to whats in the textbook or on exams. Also, he assigns a lot of readings. He gives one weekly quiz which is easy and should help your grade. No homework. Just quizzes and test scores make up your grade so make sure you do well on exams!!

The amount he assigns to read is actually ridiculous and usually a waste of time. His lectures don't really help with the exams or quizzes as those questions are very specific. Go to the lectures for attendance credit. Quizzes and tests are all online. Only take him if you have to!

It was his first time teaching this class so I guess he was very lenient in grading. First phase up to midterm is easy, aftwards if you dont pay attention to the concepts you can easily get lost. Ask questions, read the readings. You can get the book online as pdf. You have a final paper which has to be 10 pages but you work on it during semester.

Tedin is tenured. First time teaching this course. Not entirely prepared some to the time. Uses TopHat to take attendance and lecture slides. The TA does all the grading. Weekly exercises that arent too difficult, just time consuming. The tests are from the book and outside readings, he posts a study guide but its still difficult. He curves.

Although i'v heard that Professor Tedin has a great reputation with his graduate classes that he teaches, this was his first time teaching Arguments, Data, and Politics and it was all over the place. The lectures and homework did not correlate whatsoever. Test is easy as long as you read. Heavy load of reading assignments. He talks too much though.

Professor Tedin was a really nice professor. He does ramble on about random topics sometimes, but he's very intelligent. His lectures are only slightly related to what's in the book and you WILL be tested on things discussed in class! His tests (at least for me), were all online and the grade curve was incredibly generous (scored a B, curved to A)

He curves the class but don't let that fool you, if you don't do well on test you WILL FAIL. Gives quizzes & test only! Your final grade is curved but not the quizzes or test. I barely passed & I went to class weekly. Attendance isn't mandatory & is a waste of time! Don't take him for a core class that is needed to graduate. Your GPA will regret it

One of the absolute worst i've ever had the misfortune to have as a professor. He knows his stuff, but isn't very helpful at all, and seems to look down on undergrads. Take him only if you absolutely have to - only if nobody else is available and you need the class to graduate.

Did not learn much, other than his personal view on politics. Lectures were AWFUL. I took this class because it was the only option available. Pretty sure he is tenured, because he doesn't seem to be very passionate about students or material.
