Overall the lab was very hard if it will be the first chemistry lab you take. Every calculation has to be very accurate and the final was very hard. The TA's are very helpful but some are very tough graders.

Comment:

The lab class was reasonable in difficulty. Accuracy matters in everything Dr Simpson does, so make no mistakes in your assignments or get points taken off. He's strict on lab protocol, like keeping safety goggles on. Also the final was startlingly comprehensive and detailed. The final was impossible to pass without studying.

It's very unethical what he does. He literally writes all the lab manuals for general chemistry and EVERYONE taking any of those classes (which is almost everyone majoring in math or science) has to buy them for about $30. He gets paid by the school $126k every year and on top of that he forces us all to buy his lab manuals. It is unethical.

definitely has high standards for a chem 1a teacher. he was hard, his tests req. reading and actually doing practice problems&whatnot. he gave out too much online homework. in the end i passed the class. he probably had a high standard because he's the department head..

The worst teacher on the planet. He is so so extremely rude and does not care for his students whatsoever...he is now head of the chem department and if you go to him for help he'll send you home crying.

he's such a good teacher. i really liked him coz he won't waste time on unimportant crap- just get straight to the point. the only thing is he's monotomous. so lecture was a drag. he's also really approachable and extremely helpful if you need help.

LOVED him! As long as you come to class FAITHFULLY and do the homework there is no reason to get a bad grade. He gives pop quizs, so be in class! Best chem teacher ever!

Awesome teacher. Easy Easy Easy. BUT FINAL IS VERY VERY HARD. iF YOU FAIL THE FINAL, YOU FAIL THE CLASS. What you get on the final is what you get in the class.
