Comment:

I really enjoyed taking Dr. Hammond's class. She clearly is passionate about the material she teaches and it makes taking the course all the more enjoyable. The material we learned was difficult, but she would always go back and go through any particular area that we were stuck on. Make sure to understand kidneys- that's all the 2nd midterm is.

Comment:

Dr. Hammond is a real gem. She truly cares about her students and wants you to succeed. She is passionate about what she teaches and really tries to get to know you. I will definitely be asking her for a letter of rec in the future. She might just be my favorite professor at UCR and i even talk to her once in a while.

Honestly Dr. Hammond is one of my favorite professors Ive ever had and this was one of my favorite classes at UCR. She is very laid back and could relate to all of the students. Since this was a seminar class with 25 ish students she really made an effort to know everyone. The class itself was very interesting and made u want to come to class.

She is a kind person in office hours (OH) and will drop a lot of hints on what will show up on her test. So go to OH; however, in lecture she is really dry, boring, and her slides are very disorganized. Not to mention she goofs up in lecture and will say the opposite things (Eg: ADH makes the body lose water should be retain) so confusing as well

She is a nice lady that cares for her students. She enjoys talking about the environment and likes talking about other random things like that. She is funny, but sometimes her lectures can be dry. Answer the questions at the end of her lectures, and you should be fine. Not a super interesting class, but she tries her best to make it fun.

She's rather useless. She makes a large number of mistakes each lecture, sometimes directly contradicting what she said 10 minutes previously. She told us there were 4 cm per inch. Really? Really???

Hammond and Regan were nice ladies, but absolutely pointless. This class is just about how well you can memorize the textbook, so there's really no point to go to lectures, since their slides are straight from the book. The only way to do well on tests is to know EVERYTHING in the book. Class was NOT easy so Be ready to work your *** off

Boring, powerpoints are straight from book and long (25 pgs). This class was split with Regan who is was great-no tricks and was fair on exams. Didn't like Hammond. Tests are fair but she can't teach that well-ok overall better than the infamous Chappel.

She is terrible. She prints out the lectures last minute. She is one of the worst BIO 5B teaches out there. Chapel would be better than this lady. Even Regan is better and she hasn't taught here long. The exams are diferent from the notes so reading the book can clear a few things up. UCR I beg you, please get rid of her.

Difficult instructor. Material is not hard but the way it is tested makes it very challenging. Midterm and final are very similar with some questions taken directly from AP biology exam. Do not underestimate the exams as they make up a major portion of the class and the curve is very small.

She wasn't that bad of an instructor, if you go over and understand the concepts in class it will help you a lot for the exams. But she doesn't pronounce things so everyone can hear if her life depended on it. Half of the time I would be turning to a classmate asking what in the world she just said.

Man... I hated going to class with this lady. She's so unclear that most of the time SHE doesnt even know what she's talking about. MAKE GOOD USE OF THE TAs! An "A/A-" is very doable, but takes ALOT of effort, unlike the notoriously impossible Chappell.

She tends to jump from one topic to another in one lecture.The notes are not very organized and sometimes you dont know what is she talking about.She easily made mistake while teaching the lec.Her final is easier than the midterm but make sure you study hard for this class and try to go to her OH b/c there is no TA for this class.
