I've had several classes with Dr. Hale and she's very involved in her class and cares a great deal about the content she's teaching. Make sure you take lectures seriously and read the book (even if it's just to fill in the gaps between lecture and study guide) it's not a super easy class but she prepares you well and is always open for questions!

Dr. Hale is truly passionate about history, and thats is made apparent through her lectures. She is always willing to communicate with students while still holding them accountable for the course work. If you put in the work you will Be I have taken other courses by her in the past and will continue to take them in the future!

Speaks quickly but always makes sure that you understand the material. She makes the material enjoyable and easy to follow given you study and read. ( Like you're supposed to!)

Great class. This is an advanced history class so be prepared to do junior or senior level work. Papers are really well integrated in what you learn, make sure you turn everything in. A bit of a tough grader, but easy once you learn what she wants. Participate and Be prepared to give your own opinion and thoughts on the reading material.

It's a challenging class, especially if you're not into history. She talks quickly with no visual aids to help with note taking. She keeps the material interesting and gets off topic often. Exams are difficult and HEAVILY based off of your notes and some book. Show up, take notes, and study the crap out of them, filling the gaps with the book.

Only slight better than Bach, but still a very bad class. No visual aides, powerpoint, videos or blackboard. Tests were too hard and she demanded too much. Miss more than 2 classes she drops your attendance a whole letter grade. Would not recommend to anyone. Haven't gotten a B in history for years till I had her.
