Comment:

Kristin taught this class from an Education perspective. Every class period she handed out in-class worksheets which we worked on in groups while she circulated and we occasionally stopped to discuss as a class. This way of teaching a geometry proof class was very helpful and her step-by-step approach made things make sense.

Dr. Umland is an extremely intelligent woman and a great teacher. Although the class isn't easy she really teaches her students how to understand the mathematical principles. She is always open to having extra meetings with students and will re-explain things as many times as you need.

Comment:

Kristin is very smart, however very discouraging. The math homework is about 15-20 pages long- and you will spend HOURS doing the homework- to receive terrible grades that will put you to tears! She isn't spectacular with explaining the material, either. Wouldn't reccomend.

Mrs Umland is really tough on grading, make a mistake on a test or homework and you'll be marked off tons of points. not good at explaining, and expects you to figure out yourself, and then expects your work to be absolutely perfect.

Kristin has good intensions and is good at explaining things one way in the class room. If you understand her way and she likes you, you'll do fine. There is a lot of homework and the tests are hard and she rarely prepares you for them. You'll do terrible on your homework unless you copy the answers word for word from the books explanations.

She's very smart and understands the subject, but I think she has a hard time getting it out to people. Very nice and willing to help you understand it though, but definately makes the class harder and more work than other sections, but you are more prepared for elementary math classrooms.
