He is extremely hard to follow during lectures but he's always willing to help. He gives quizzes after every lecture and drops your 5 lowest grades. Do not take this class if you don't have a fairly decent understanding of math!!!

Comment:

I had him for Int. Algebra last semester and he was pretty great. Very nice man, not condescending. He wasn't always 100% clear in how he explained things, but he stayed after class to help me several times. Approachable. He had his home # on the syllabus if we needed anything. Gave after lecture quizzes every day so attendance was mandatory.

I would strongly discourage anyone from taking this course! I was unable to learn from this teacher, and have never had this happen to me before. He was unable to answers the problems correctly himself, let alone teach the class how to do so. On one day in particular, he spent the whole class period doing on problem, only to show us the wrong way!

As an older student who never went beyond algebra 1 in high school and never used a calculator, I love this man. I felt he was an excellent instructor. I absolutely hate math,terrible in it, If it wasn't for me making silly mistakes on my test, I would have ended up with an A. He is very helpful and if I could I would have given him a pay raise!

I started out this class excited because I love math. I never want him as a teacher again and I wish there was no tenure. He has his favorites and no matter how good you are at math and how hard you try, if you aren't a favorite you're out of luck. His policies are not only unfair but wasteful to the resources of the University.

Nice guy. He is a little bit monotone but he does a decent job teaching. I liked how he allowed you to value your grade the way you wanted to with different grading scales. An easy B class.

The class may be boring, but he is a great teacher. Always willing to help and stay after class. All quizes were take home, all tests were open notes except midterm and final. Highly recomended, wish I could have him again.

I can't believe this guy's still teaching! I had him for math my 1st 3 yrs of high school at Smithville (9/73 - 6/76), & then later at Wayne College. He's a great teacher & a former high school football coach.

Comment:

When I took his class (Spring 03) he had several grading systems. You could pick which grading system you wanted to use. He gave a lot of open note quizzes, but you could drop your lowest scores. He was fair and had open hours before and after class.
