Comment:

The nature of this course is very technical and difficult, but having her as the professor makes it worse. She reads from her slides verbatim, offers no help for homework, and relies too much on her often out-of-touch TAs, who take forever to grade your work. My advice: join ISACA just for the extra credit - you'll need it, my friend.

Comment:

Seriously i don't understand while she is in class. She reads from the book, makes mistakes in her slides, and does not answer questions. Why are you in class? To teach us - you don't teach - you read from the book. To prepare us for the real world ,as you say, I don't need such preparation. A question for the MSA management - when will she retire?

Personally, I am very fond of her. But it's clear she doesn't really want to teach. She doesn't answer your questions, claiming that she is preparing you for the "real world." While this is a valid point, the fact is that I will go into the "real world" without learning much of anything from this class. I love you Dr. I but it's time to retire.

Lectures have nothing to do with what is on the exam. Does not give out review questions and doesn't allow you to look at the midterm after your done. Reading the book is the only was to pass in her class. People who leave good reviews are on the ISACA board or ISACA members, and she favors people who are in ISACA and she gives them good grades.

She is the worst professor I have ever had. Based her grade on who she likes. I heard that a person usually got 70 something in midterms got an A! Unclear about her requirements and the lecture is super boring!

The module manual is an absolute nightmare. Don't plan to sleep during this course. Most work I've ever done. 3 crazy projects and four midterms in a 2 and half week span. Dr. Ingraham was nice and approachable though!

There are lots of mistakes on her slides, which she then blames on someone else-whoever she copied and pasted her slides from. I don't like this attitude. This is my major, but she's almost killed my interest. Taught myself, the whole semester. Do not take her.

Lectures consist of summary of chapter and powerpoint (in class powerpoints have answers to the questions, but not all answers are given from downloading from d2l; go to class to get answers). 3 exams, 5 hws, 1 group hw, 1 final. Some EC. Attendance can help your grade if it border lines. Tough class, be ready for work.

I took one of her classes as AIS is my major. First of all, I didn't learn anything new (I read before class and she read the same in class -thank you, but I can read myself)Second,her constant remarks ..."some people say...but now you see it's not true..are very annoying. After visiting her class I started paying more attention to negative reviews

I took Ingraham for three courses (B, G and D). I also read the comments written here and I have one thing to say. You won't find another professor at SJSU who is a better teacher and who cares more about her students. Those who say she reiterates what's in the book were obviously not listening to her lectures ... she's amazing!!

Her lecture is very boring.Lecture is not helpful for exam although attendance needed. Her is very rude. She is not helpful. If she does not like you then exam score would be very low. Evan you could fail. So choose different teacher or different class. She is very arrogant.

This professor is very very very boring. Every one of her lectures I had a hard time staying awake. I like the subject and I pretty much learn everything just by reading the books. I wish I took this class with another teacher, but at least I learned a lot about Microsoft Access (on my own). P.S: Not approachable either.

She is a very knowledgeable professor, she knows her stuff (bookwise), but she is not that great of professor because she literally reads off all the slides in class, I mean come on, i can read,i want to learn more about AIS( its my MAJOR for sakes), anyway, memorize the slides inside out, and i guarantee you will get an A for the class.

I had Professor Ingraham for 120B and 120G. Either class, read the powerpoints, she considers them study guides and questions come right off them. Its interesting to see the difference in her teaching styles between the two classes, in 120G she is laid back, and literally finished class early every meeting just to let us finish homework or leave.

Professor Ingrahm has give me opportunities none of my other professors have. She cares about all her students. She takes time to explain all the topics and ask if we understands. She is the best professor SJSU has!!!
