Professor Yanks is a beautiful person, both inside and out. She is the only professor I met who really cared about her students. I took her class a couple years ago after I spent 6 years at SUNY. I would never have graduated without her. She is really brilliant and really beautiful. I teach english now because of her. She is my role model.

Comment:

If you're looking for a an easy, fun and informative class with a unique professor, this one is for you! Lauren is funny, sweet and it really is an easy A -- with quite a few good reads in it! I enjoyed this class and it fulfilled a few requirements, so having Lauren there to make it easy and fun was a real treat. Go for it!

The only professor I had that actually cares and gets to know her students. This class taught me more than my others combined. Smartest, coolest lady and really funny.

Comment:

As an older student (for nursing) I loved and appreciated this class so much. It was just wonderful. She analyzes the books to show basically how to live. I wish I had taken this 20 years ago but probably would not have been mature enough yet. The most inspirational teacher I ever had and highly recommend.

Vague barely begins to describe her. Spent most of class doing rote group work while she checked emails. One could watch the Michael Moore filmography to get a full (and far more articulate) synopsis of her worldview. Spends entire course discussing 'issues,' generally overlooking the literature.

Professor Yanks is absolutely brilliant. She is my role model as a teacher and just as a human. She is just a very wonderful. Her class has been my favorite because she's opened my eyes to so many things. Sadly too many people don't want there eyes opened. I would take a class with Professor Yanks for anything. LOVE HER

She's nice, but vague. Not demanding in the slightest. "Current Events in Literature" had no coherent focus; books and subject sometimes completely unrelated to course name. Takes on serious, draining issues without the thoroughness or focus they deserve. One paper for entire course ("writing intensive" gen ed) Easy A, but waste of money otherwise.

Ms. Yanks is the greatest teacher I have ever had, literally. She's so inspiring and motivating. I learned more in her class than I have in any other class. She truely cares about our world and cares enough to educate us on topics usually pushed "under the rug". She's a wonderful role-model.

As a person, Prof. Yanks is charming and friendly. As a professor, she is lackluster at best. Her knowledge of literature is minimal and her knowledge of world affairs taken straight from Daily Show reruns and Michael Moore documentaries. You'll enjoy talking to her but won't learn much from the class

Lauren Yanks is the BEST professor I have had thus far. She is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and she truly wants her classrooms to have knoweldge of the existing world. She always comes to class bubbly and with a good attitude. I am learning a lot from her and I am enjoying her class more than I ever have so far.
