DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE ONLINE. I had a terrible experience with this professor. She was extremely hands off, didn't explain anything, and wouldn't clarify anything even when students had questions. If you take this class online with prof Franklin, get ready for a miserable experience and an unexplained, unjustified grad.

this is a fairly easy class that gets your feet wet in journalism. Fran is interested in what she teaches and uses powerpoints and in-class activities to teach. there is some writing, and a couple tests, but the class is fairly easy. Fran is a nice lady and experienced in her field.

Fran is a really good teacher. I was borderline 3 points away from an A and I sent her a message and she raised my grade to an A, no problem. She helped a lot though... defitinely recommended!

Fun prof! Takes time to explain things if anyone is unclear. Most of the work is in class, or on webct. She gives you a lot of practice assignments to make sure everyone is solid before a test. A really good prof to have!

I really enjoyed having Fran as a professor. She was very down to earth, personable with the students, and really helped us learn the fundamental journalism principles. She was very encouraging; I highly recommend taking her class.
