He is full of a lot of fun stories and likes to share and be helpful. He can get lost in his own thoughts sometimes so be prepared to follow down a strange path but there is a point at the end. Not much writing or homework but that being said what is written is a heavy part of your grade. You will have to come in outside of class to finish your art

I have ZERO talent when it comes to art, but Lee will find so many things to compliment you on, and help guide you to improve your work. Pottery is a fun class, but don't skip or else you WILL get behind. The only complaint I have is I didn't like the height requirements he set for every project. Other than that, the class was very fun!

Lee is a great instructor. He demonstrates everything that he expects you to do and is very helpful when it comes to questions. The one down side of his class, not him, is the extra time needed out side of class to complete quality projects. If you care about your work, expect to be in the lab outside of class.

Took wheel throwing with Lee fall term at night. He's a great personable teacher but he loves to talk and share stories during class. Demonstrations take nearly the whole class period. Little work time on demo days.. expect to come in almost weekly to open labs times..

Wheel-throwing pottery is a very fun hands-on class. That being said, prepare to put in the time to get stuff done. His lecturesdemos can sometimes swallow up the majority of the class and leave you without time to actually get your own art done. Alot of people come in separately after the class period to get their pieces done in order to pass.

Make an effort to get to know Lee, he's great. If you're averse to putting in an extra 2-3 hours outside of class time, then this class will feel like a burden. Buy at least two different types of clay to see what you like. Do not buy the book from CCC's bookstore and do invest in a potter's apron. Newbies: Utilize the tutor available on Fridays!

Even though I got an A, I really had to work extra hard and put in the hours. Came in outside of class almost every week and stayed after class, so it was very time consuming. Lee is nice and has a lot of great stories, but somehow I have a hard time learning from him. If you need help, you have to really go after him and can't be shy like me.

Lee is very friendly and will gladly step in to help each student at the pottery wheel. My class had 15 students in it, and so it was difficult to get personal, hands on time, but the ceramics lab is an open lab, and so many experienced students are there to lend a hand for this introduction-level class. Wheel throwing is hard, but I've learned.

Lee is a nice guy and has a lot of stories to tell. It is clear he knows what he is doing, however teaching the trade is a different story. I found it hard to learn from him. It can be very difficult to get his attention, especially because he is usually flirting. If you are inexperienced, don't expect him to go easy on you.

He's a sweetie and a great teacher. He could be a bit nicer when it comes to noobs though. I got docked a couple letter grades because some of my pieces got ruined and it wasn't in anyway my fault.

I loved working with Lee. he was fun, caring, and always in good spirits. the class is lots of fun. it may seem hard, but he more you work with the clay the more you understand it. Lee makes it look like it's butter he's playing with. lee has stories to help remember things. and there are often snacks in class. i never even needed the book.

First off, I'll start saying he's a good teacher. He knows his clay. But the problem is his class is so dang hard! He expects a lot of out of class work and just didn't have a lot of time. Plus he doesn't have a lot of grace (One of my bowls broke, "Oh well..") You do learn a lot but there are just ridiculous time constraints. Won't be taking again

He was a lot of fun. He is always telling stories and making jokes. You have to be very motivated in his classes, they move very fast. He can be a little scatterbrained but is always willing to help you out.

Lee's handbuilding class was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The thing to warn about with Lee is that he can be forgetful. If you need help, don't be shy about hounding him. Otherwise he'll wander off to Narnia or wherever he disappears to.
