In a few weeks I will have completed the most enjoyable course in my 64 hours at TCC. Dr. Walker is awesome, enthusiastic, so up-to-date in the subject matter, crystal clear in her expectations, a real professional and someone I greatly admire. She is truly dedicated to the subject matter and to her students. I will miss her class.

As a psychology major at UTA, I found Dr. Walker absolutely engaging in her subject matter. She is fun, interesting, very, very knowledgeable. I learned so much--got far more than I really paid for. I highly recommend Dr. Walker--great class--great professor.

Comment:

Just finished this class and by far the most enjoyable of all my 50 plus hours at TCC. Dr. Walker is just a class act--so up-to-date on subject matter--always bringing to class current events for class discussion. I recommend her highly. I got more from this class than I ever imagined I could from a college psychology class. She is amazing.

Dr. Walker has by far been my favorite proffesor at TCC. You can tell she loves to teach the class and keeps it interesting by encouraging student input. Many group discussions about current issues and beliefs. I learned so much about myself from taking this course. You almost forget that it is a class and not a group therapy session LOL

As a psychology/counseling major at UNt, I found Dr.Walker absolutely engaged in her class, so helpful, so up-to-date with theory, etc. Without question, Dr. Walker loves what she teaches--just an exceptional professor. I would take her again in a heartbeat.

Comment:

Pros: Velma gives you a syllabus for every chapter of the book. This makes up for the majority of the test questions. Do your HW and projects and this class is an easy A. Cons: Velma pushes what she believes to be right, her personal convictions, over scientific evidence. She crosses personal boundaries and at times is unethical in her approach.

This clas changed my way of thinking about life. Dr. Walker is truly one of the most energetic and the very best instructors I have had at TCC. She is just a "ball of enthusiasm." If you go to class and get her notes on-line, you will do quite well. If not, it is your own fault.

Fun class, fun assignments, fun projects. Types up notes on overhead for you to copy as she talks. Wrote the workbook you use almost daily. Willing to help with your grade. Tests are passable even without studying. Made a high B without ever studying and missing some assignments. Highly recommend. Will make you laugh.

She is the best teacher I have had in a while. The information she teaches relates to real life and helped me in my personal life a lot. If you have her notes you will do great on her tests. There is nothing boring about this class. She is awesome! take her if you can.
