Leela is a fantastic professor--sensitive, and most appropriate to teach Gandhi. She brings out the best from students while being responsive to their concerns and opinions. The class discussions are amazing and provide wonderful insights. Here's some simple advise if you are considering this course: Take it!

This is one of the best courses I have ever taken in my 4 years at Duke. I'm so glad I decided to take in my final year. I wish I had taken one of her courses sooner. Absolutely amazing teacher and fabulous course. Lots of insights that I will take away into the real world.

In her Hinduism class, Professor Prasad didn't seem to understand that many of the students came from Hindu backgrounds while others did not, so she kind of taught like you already knew what was going on. Created a very strange dynamic and an uncomfortable learning environment. She is very helpful though, and you don't actually have to read.

Leela is hands-down one of my favorite professors at Duke. She genuinely loves what she's teaching and cares about her students. She will go out of her way to help her students and is one of the nicest, most open people I have ever met. You will NOT regret taking her classes!

She is awesome! My friends and I couldn't believe what others have written. We decided to write and correct the **** comments. We never felt left out or treated like idiots. You have to take her course for the best education experience ever!

The best Professor I've ever had! I have taken two courses with her and the discussions in both courses were eye-opening to say the least. I found her to be tremendous in her sensitivity to various perspectives. Some bigoted people may have their opinons, but her courses especially the one on Sacred Space were spectacular. Don't miss her course!

This was a fantastic course--i can't believe the comments of some others. I know that many in my class share my opinion. Working on a project to create sacred spaces was awesome. Since I took this course at the end of my studies at Duke, I can say it was perhaps the BEST course I took at Duke.

This professor treated me like I was a total idiot, which I am not. She is **** against white people and did not offer any sort of feedback that would help with writing or getting better grades. Plus she shows really long boring videos about India from the 70's.

Prof. Prasad is great professor. She doesn't care about tests and whatnot but actually wants you to learn and get excited about what she teaches. Her expectations are a little high for work but she still grades easily. She made my 2.5 hour class really enjoyable!
