Professor Stevenson is a pain. She never answers emails, she does not submit grading on time (10 weeks late sometimes...), and she always has excuses. She assigns excessive amounts of work and then cannot grade it in time. You will receive little to no feedback on your work, often times it seems like she hasn't even read it...

Horrible. I was doing poorly in her class, even though I would read and study for every quiz. When I emailed her about my concerns, she rarely emailed me back. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER STUDENTS.

I enjoyed the class. If you're familiar with politics then this class will be straightforward for you. If you're not I could see why it would be a bit tricky. Participation is essential for a good grade. The midterm will take up a couple of hours of your time. She has a great attitude and is the consummate professional.

Stevenson is great. She shows up never in a bad mood, and is always ready with good material. She will tell you you need the book, but I rented it for $50 and never needed it. Google is better than the book. Pretty easy grader as long as you do what is asked you'll get an A. Intersting class!

Dr. Stevenson is good professor. Super funny if you get on board with her humor. I laugh every class. The work load isn't bad, she understands you have other classes.

Throughout the course of the semester, this woman assigned 9 quizzes and promised to drop the 3 lowest grades. One day before the final, she sent out an email explaining that she did not have enough material to grade, therefore she had no choice but to only allow 1 quiz grade to be dropped. She has no compassion for her students. Horrible professor

Stevenson is an incredibly kind person and does her best to get you to learn the course content. At times, we kind of strayed from the syllabus. Midterm and final exam weren't that bad, 4 response papers which are just a few paragraphs, and a research project that isn't a paper but its a powerpoint presentation which wasn't bad.

Comment:

Professor Stevenson is a great professor and the class material is very interesting. However, the class requires a lot of work and effort. Getting an A is definitely possible, but is time consuming due to the 4 assigned papers throughout the semester (though there are no exams). If you prefer writing papers over studying, this class is for you.

If you're serious about school, you'll do fine in Stevenson's classes. I've had her multiple times now and I plan on taking her again. She's fair and very personable. All you have to do is go to class, read the material, and you'll do fine. To those complaining: 300 level and above is not meant to be a cakewalk.

Dr. Stevenson clearly does not have enough time to teach, or she only cares about her upper level classes. She is very disorganized, and takes the entire semester to get grades back from the first month. Her lectures are long and boring, and she is quite rude. Especially if you aren't a political science major, don't take this

Prof. Stevenson is a very passionate and likeable teacher but strives to be challenging. Some material on tests not in study guide/notes or tests. Not cool to ask about the pope when it was only mentioned once in class months ago and was not in the study guide or notes. Also not cool to ask details about presidents that was not in book or notes.

I dread going to this class. It is bad enough that its a night class. Stevenson tries to make the info interesting but it's not at all -_- I HIGHLY suggest that you do not take this course unless you are a Political Science major. DO NOT take it as a culture cluster. You will regret it.

Dr. Stevenson is highly unorganized, very slow to return grades, and her notes on the board are scattered. I found her exams to be a bit difficult. However, she does offer you extra credit opportunities.. I don't believe I'd take another class of hers.

Dr Stevenson is a sweet lady and makes learning this stuff interesting. her lectures can be a bit dry but if you do your CTEs and try then it is a very interesting class. she is a bit bad at getting grades back in a timly manner but she allows many chances for extra credit. Id suggest taking her.

Dr. Stevenson is probably one of the best teachers at WCU. She makes sure that you comprehend the material to the best way possible. Tests are usually not bad as long as you show up on lectures and read your part. I am not a history/ international relations major but the class is really interesting and engaging. You won't regret taking this class.

Comment:

Dr. Stevenson is a very nice lady, and will work with you to make sure everything goes smoothly. Sometimes you feel a little lost in terms of the readings (and they can get repetitive and drag on a bit) but it isn't too bad. Lots of PowerPoints taught by students, wants you to be able to have a discussion-based class often.
