Students beware! Puts a lot of details that are useless. More concerned with following the book. A lot of the time gone or very slow to follow up with questions. Retook the class with another professor and understood the subject much better.

Not a good instructor. Disorganized, online blackboard is poorly developed. Actually, there is hardly any development and instructions on the blackboard for the online class. Materials used are not consistent. She does not go directly to the point when answering a student's questions. But, cause confusion and bring distraction most of the time.

Class starts out fairly easy but gets very hard by the end. Projects arent to hard because you can get help with them. Tests are terrible because there is always stuff on them that hasn't been covered yet. If your interested in testing the waters regarding computer programming find another class.

She makes tons of excuses for herself, but accepts none from others. She has serious organizational issues, and assessment answers are often incorrect. This is the most frustrating online class I've ever taken. Do not take her courses! run while you can!

Where to start... Marcia is a nice lady, and she means well. She is likeable in that regard. However, this class was a complete waste of time for a Programming Major. I've had to spend the majority of my time in Prog 118 unlearning what she taught, simply because she has been out of touch with the professional programming world for far too long.

Online class was difficult - not a lot of frills to help learn. Book is challenging to read for a first time programmer. Project 1/Test 1 was relatively easy, got an A, Project 2/Test 2 failed miserably - stay up with the work and ask for help immediately! Instr needs more outside tutor sessions to help for the number of people with questions.

Don't take this teacher, she fail to plan and she is planning to fail you! She is absolutely, horrible at teaching, explaining assignments, giving instructions, and following her OWN rule. She expects high from beginner programmers. Her projects require weeks of stress and her tests will make you cry. She is a VERY picky grader and don't take joke.

I've taken Marcia for a few classes. I know well enough that the people that complain about her the most are those that want their hands held. Face it people, your boss wants someone that can take responsibility and not blame him/her for your failures. Get used to it here before you get into the real world. She is one sharp cookie!

If you are independent and like challenges, take her class. Do not expect much help from her and TA. The textbook is very self-explanatory on the subject. Nor really requires a teacher for this class. If you want to save money, just buy the textbook and learn by yourself.

Teacher is extremely fast-paced! She doesn't care when students have questions. She has too much of a "Big Business attitude". Half her class failed fall quarter and the same has been true in the past according to what everyone else says. Her projects take 30+ hours to do and the tests are incredibly hard and worth a big percent of the grade!

DON'T get this teacher! She has a business attitude, meaning if you ask for help she will tell you to figure it out. Over two-thirds the class is failing her class. I'm probably going to get a B or C, and usually I'm a straight-A student. She is always very fast-paced and everyone complains about it. If you can avoid this teacher, do!

I took the class online, it was great because she based all her quizes on the book, and not only she gave us the questions ahead of time, but also had extra questions for those confusing/debatable ones. I meet her in person and she is sweet. Im taking her again this quarter.

WORST teacher I have ever had. She spends too much time fussing over the unnecessary details. I almost filed a grievance against her because I believe that she wasted my tuition. I ended up dropping out of the class, it wasn't worth it to me. I was learning nothing.

Don't be afraid of taking Marcia's class. The online class was OK except waiting for feedbacks for assignments. The textbook was very understandable and Marcia's notes were very helpful, so I got an A after only 2 years in America.

Bad teacher. Not worth my time or my tuition at all. This is my third class of the day and is pure waste of two hours of my life that I can never get back. Thankfully the class is only twice a week and thank goodness it's over soon. I can't stand her. She is a horrible teacher. I learned nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Marcia Williams is by far, the WORST teacher I have ever had. She does not directly answer questions, instead she leads you on a wild goose chase with "clues" and she does not let anyone answer your questions either (she uses Vista and tells people not to post answers on the discussion board). She is also always late in returning assignments.
