Marion is a good professor and brings a lot of energy to his class, even super early in the morning. I don't recommend taking this class if you have no interest in theater arts though. I suffered through this, not because of the professor, but just because I really didn't care. Had I studied at all, I would have done much better.

Good teacher. He understands that most people taking this class are not going to be theater majors trying to HONE THEIR CRAFT so he doesn't teach it like everyone's a theater major. Gave an overview of different theatrical styles, had us read a few plays, and talked about basic theater terminology. Nothing exorbitant.

I 100% recommend his class to anyone. It's very easy and attendance isn't totally mandatory. He's a little disorganized but admits to it. He'll help you catch up or have a one-on-one with you no matter what. Mid terms and finals are based on speeches of your chosen poetry, drama, etc. Also, NO BOOK!

very nice guy, lectures were energetic but he does use figures of speech wayyy to much. his lecture classes are easy, but have a lot of information.

Took Summer Session 2007. Knowledgable and helpful. Accelerated class, so we were almost constantly giving speeches and taking tests. It was a helpful class.

i didn't find marion that helpful. if your not a good actor, then you can tell that he's disappointed and doesn't want to work with you, even if you are trying your best.

If you get to know him on a surface level, he is great. But like any professor in the theatre dept. he has favorites. Can be really moody, and you never know what mood it will be.

Great professor! Loved the day he wore a pirate's hat to class. Another dedicated professor in the theatre dept. And, he directs great shows!

Marion is a superlative Professor, an excellent mix of academia and approachability. There's no questioning his expertise, and he presents information in such a way that it's easy to digest. I learned a lot about the theatre and acting from him.
