I've only had Professor Kendall for two weeks now but it is clear she is passionate about teaching and giving all of her students the tools to be successful in her class. Her lectures are extremely clear, informative, and actually enjoyable to attend. She stops to make sure everyone clearly understands the subject matter. Love her and this class!

Comment:

Probably the best instructor I have ever taken. She explains clearly what her lessons and answers questions clearly. She expresses interest in her students. She asked our class what our interests in biology were, and she tailored her class to add/spend more time on those sections if permissible. I became fascinated and changed my major to Biology

Marissa is a very good bio teacher who knows her stuff very well and is very passionate about biology. She gives a very good lecture notes that is very lean and concise. She is a fair grader. Lab is mandatory as it plays a huge role to your grade. Overall a very good teacher who is fun, entertaining and gives great answers to student's questions.

Marissa doesn't take any crap, will be up front with you without beating around the bush. Passionate about Biology, very intelligent, tough exams, fair grader and overall one of the most down to earth teachers on campus. Take this class if you appreciate a solid, legitimate professor!

Class is not easy especially those new to bio. Exams hard, uses tricky questions and doesn't cover all info in notes...she claims quite the contrary....if she likes u easy A...if not a real struggle....she's smart and entertaining....patience seems to be low and expectations extremely high.....

Comment:

Awesome professor, she taught in such a way that all the material was retained in my brain. I am not a bio person, but I did really well in this class. To get an A, you have to attend class and take good notes, they save your life for test. We had three scantron tests, 2 hwks assignments, 10 labs, and one final. Overall, pretty easy :)

She's amazing! I've never had a teacher that can hold my interest for 2 hours straight, then for 3 hours more in lab! She explains everything so wonderfully, before this class I truly felt like Biology was only memorization. Now I understand the basics and am excited to know more!

I agree with all the comments on this page before me. She is absolutely phenomenal. This class literally changed my life, my major. She makes everything super easy to understand, tests are challenging but as long as you attend lect. yr good. 2nd chance on each exam. very approachable, funny. only 2 hw assignments. Overall an amazing experience! :)

I had Marisa in the Summer of 2011 and she's awesome when it comes to the labs which were interesting! Although the three exams were hard and it was a fast paced class, the labs were really easy A to boost up your grade! I recommend her for those who aren't stupid (like me) and slack off in class!!

She is AWESOME! I thought that Bio10 would be boring but she makes the class very interesting and memorable! Ive seen her a couple times outside of class and she is always very friendly. You can tell that she really loves the subject and just loves teaching in general. I wish all teachers were like Professor Kendall! (oh and class is easy too)

One of the best professors I've ever had. Looked forward to every lecture. She should do stand-up comedy riffing on biology. My friends wanted to attend for the entertainment value. Information was up-to-date and important for life in general as a US citizen. Hard to get a bad grade.

I really enjoyed her lectures, labs were fun, and Marisa is very approachable and always willing to help. She updates you with your grade frequently. The only complaint I have are the diagrams she uses on exams/quizzes. They look NOTHING like the notes taken in class, and they are often fuzzy and unreadable. Otherwise- highly recommended!

After taking most of the classes required for my major, I can come back and say Kendall is the best biology instructor at Foothill. She uses a ton of examples and analogies. Take good lecture notes and use that to study for the exams.

She is the best teacher I have ever had! You must take her if you have to take this class. Everything is from her notes in class. She emails you your grade all the time. She also does a second scantron for the first 3 test. Plus, she is funny! I loved her.

Comment:

Marissa is the best Bio teacher. They way she describes things and draws them out makes it clear to understand. If you go to the lectures and the labs there is no way you can fail. Great with extra credit and answers all you questions. If she taught other Bio classes I would definelty take them.
