Comment:

Barely used the textbook. Only the first essay I turned in was graded, the rest I never found out my grade for as they were not yet graded. Is a little lenient on turning in work. Did not receive much helpful feedback on work. The homework (essays) are doable. Lectures are not always helpful (hit or miss). Does give decent writing guidelines.

Comment:

Class is easy to pass as long as you do the writing assignments (we only had 3.) He spends the whole class talking about his life, but no one seemed to mind it since it was just a G.E. class. We didn't know our grades the whole semester because he didn't know how to use Canvas. Regardless, he's a really cool guy I wish I could have him again.

Professor Joslin has many life stories that he shares with the class. Don't buy the book, we never used it. Only assigned 4 essays, super chill class. Did not learn about Chicano culture though.

He's honestly a very kind and very lenient teacher. he doesn't teach but I don't mind.. he just talks about his life the whole time. gives only 2 essays and a 7-page research paper, no final exam. Only needed the book once so don't bother buying it

I would honestly wake up at 8 in the morning on a Friday just to here this professor talk about his life !!!! Serioulsy so irresponsible, he will never reply to your emails, gives back your work super late. DO NOT take his class.

Professor Joslin was a very nice and approachable . His lectures usually go off-topic but he has really funny life stories. Try not to buy the book, we BARELY used it . He literally said " I don't why I made you guys buy this book, sorry." Too late, but whatever. Do really well on the essays and research paper and you will be good. Good luck.

Literally is always off topic. If you are willing to just show up class and not learn anything, he's your guy. Literally only did 3 essays the whole semester. He is never on task. You won't get any knowledge from him, so get ready to show up and do nothing but listen to him talk about his stories.

coolest professor! only had 3 essays (one was for our final) and he never gave tests. Hardly used the book, so don't even bother purchasing it. Never had hw. Took attendance each day. He is super funny and always tells the best life stories. Easy A class! His handouts for thesis statements and essay writing were pretty helpful. Take him if you can!

He is a really interesting man who teaches from life experiences and comes from an odd background but is genuine. Go to class b/c he does not give a dated syllabus! Helps if you ask for it and goes with the flow. I learned a lot though it was pretty much a class about his life.

Honestly he is not as easy as all the comments say he is... This semester he gave us a lot of homework and he does read our papers. He's a smart man but does get off topic all the time. He is sometimes late and does let the class out early. He is an easy B but not an A ..does give a lot of extra credit opportunities :) ..but I didn't have to stress
