Comment:

Naison is an amazing professor. Who cares if he is full of himself, he has reason to be. Not once did his attitude affect his ability to teach in my class at all and not once was it hard to pay attention. This man is filled with humor and knowledge and his class is one of the easiest yet hardest classes I've taken. The info's fun & easy to retain.

Comment:

Naison teaches interesting classes and has real world experience, but, his attitude makes it impossible to enjoy the class. He encourages discussion, only to interrupt and cut off students to reiterate his own points. His expectations are outrageous. Overall he is very self-important, which undermines his ability to have a meaningful course.

Also heard about the curse out incident. I really hate how pompous he is. It's like he's insecure about being a nerdy kid and now has to make up for it. Really engaging lectures, but his attitude about himself and how "cool" he thinks he is REALLY detracts from it.

Yes Naison is a little in love with himself, but the man is knowledgeable, funny, and an all-around cool guy. Naison is genuinely interested in his students' lives and goes the extra mile to show it. He makes class thoroughly enjoyable, and it isn't nearly as difficult as he'd have you think-- just make sure you read most of a few of the books.

He cursed out a student for asking about the comments he wrote on her paper, after he had encouraged the entire class to come speak with him if they had any questions about the paper/the comments. To be perfectly clear, he is so full of himself that he thinks he's above everyone and everything. The most overrated professor at Fordham

Dr. Naison is a great professor, and a great person whose passion for teaching is unparalleled. He can be very opinionated in class (leftist), but he always asks if hes making sense and if anyone has rebuttals, except he knows full well you wont change his opinion. His lectures are dry at times, but class is great when there's active discussion.

Because of this class, I have come to appreciate music from the '50s and '60s. Naison teaches by basically telling his life and how he grew up - The music that affected him. He loves to play the music in class. It's all about memorization. If you really want a good grade, make sure you read the books. Some of them are actually pretty interesting.

I do not know how any one could not LOVE prof. Naison. He is honestly one of the best professors I've ever had at Fordham! He is energetic and can make anything interesting. Any one who says anything to the contrary probably slacked off and therefore is bitter because they earned a bad grade.

i think hes a very over rated prof. He tries to make himself seem like hes a tough grader who requires a lot of work, in reality, hes an easy grader (with hard tests) and assigns a lot of work, but then shortens it. He kind of just asks vague questions, and maybe asks 1 new question every 3 or 4 classes. Not bad typical seminar i guess.
