Possibly my favorite class this semester. Mostly discussion-based, but students were always engaged and cared about the topic. Loved the biological background she could provide about Feeding the World - lectures were rare, but when they happened they were amazing.

I found Marta's lectures extremely clear, and she was always really kind. We only had one test, and there were many other weird things about the class, but I think those were largely due to the other professor teaching with her.

Comment:

Bio 100 with Marta was interesting. It was run in a flipped classroom style. It was okay but I wish that we had covered and discussed more topics in class--we seemed to go incredibly in depth on just a few topics. That being said, there was a variety of assignments that contributed to your grade (only 1 test), which was nice.

After taking this class I can say that I truly have absolutely no interest in agriculture or plant biology of any kind, but Marta was helpful, laid back, and very accommodating. She's also absurdly enthusiastic about her subject material. It's endearing to take a class for a woman so ridiculously happy about plant roots.

I started bio 118 dreading the parts about plants because I assumed the subject would be so boring, but she really made me see how interesting it was. She is a lively and bubbly lecturer who incorporates lots of diagrams and visual aids.

I think I'm the only person in the world who liked her better than Cruz. She lectured well and was really helpful in office hours and Q&A's. She did ask some unfair test questions, though. She made me appreciate plants.

The tag team of Cruz/Laskoeski is pretty awesome for this class. When put up next to Cruz, Laskowski tends to not quite measure up to her teafching partner, but she's really great. Her handouts aren't very good, but just take thorough notes and you're fine. Always really helpful in Q&A sessions, and can be really funny.

Really great! She's really interested & knowledgeable about plants and its really ovious in her lectures. She's a perfect balance to Cruz (who's really great too) in bio 118. I'm looking forward to taking more plant classes with her
