Comment:

Dr. Berger probably gets a bad rap because he has a boring voice, nevertheless, if you stay awake during his lectures you get a great experience. Interesting stories, very informative, and the odd dry remark. He only has a midterm, final, and paper, but does not grade too harshly. You do have to try though, which is rare at this institution.

Had for ww2 & is so good he made you feel like you were actually there as he puts you thru hell with his pointless lectures that are useless facts regarding people of key figures in the war. Also he grades all over the place never know what to expect which doesn't help

Dr. Berger is a very confusing professor to have, but also a very good one. Go to class and take notes and you'll do fine. Tends to get off topic during class but read the book. Very interesting and knowledgeable man. My only downfall for him is that he only gives a midterm and a final, so not much room there to mess up.

This guy is great! Very knowledgeable and extremely compassionate towards his students. He's a bit boring and his lectures are a bit hard to follow; but if you read the book s (Modern Germany) and study the notes, you'll pass with flying colors. Great guy! Take him!

A class act and a wealth of information. He gives enjoyable tests that allow for plenty of choice and make you think beyond "regurgitating" a myiad of facts. I don't think there's a book on European history he hasn't read.

I had him 8 years ago for a WWI course. He was difficult in that disapline but with hard work I was able to stay focused and due well. As a person who is about to get her PHD in history I appreciate all that he did for me, he has been around a long time-
