He's a really good teacher. You have to make sure you do the reading and understand it forwards and backwards to do well on the exams and papers. But he's super helpful and really cute and funny. I really enjoyed his class and learned a lot about medical ethics.

Comment:

Nice guy, easy to understand. He was also helpful. However, he made me rewrite my senior thesis twice, and I did not understand why. I took it to mean that he disagreed with what I said, nevermind if it was right or wrong. I think our difference in opinion contributed to that. Ended up with a decent grade though.

Nice professor, discusses topics well and makes them very interesting. All lectures based on assigned readings, which consist of about an hours worth prior to class. Grades throughout the semester are made up of 2 quizzes, 2 4pg papers, and 2 exams all of which are essay or short reponse form. overall okay, make sure to read all the material.

Like really, I dont understand how this guy has such a high rating. Yes he's cute, and sometimes funny, but I absolutely hated his Phil. of Religion course. His test are all essays, and they arnt in any way easy. Many of the question seemed non-important to the main theme of the readings. I studied my ass off and barely scraped by.

I also took two of his classes. He taught me virtue by example, improved my reading comprehension and made me a better student. He also convinced me to focus on getting into med-school, although I doubt that he knows that it was his influence. He is just one of those prof that change your life and stick with you. Highly rec. religion and biomed.

He is a wonderful teacher. This class consists of a lot of reading and writing. He will help you with your papers as long as you don't wait until the last minute. He has a lot of patience, and loves class participation. His class has made me a better student!

Dr. Perlmutter is an incredible professor!! His class is worth the work for pre-med and biology majors and for anybody interested in medical issues. Speak up in his class and don't be afraid to share your opinion, also be open to other perspectives. If you can, TAKE HIM! He is great!

Marty Perlmutter is seriously the best professor Ive ever taken! Hes hillarious and makes class so interesting with his random examples and funny gestures. Hes the sweetest man you will ever meet, and makes it so easy for you to take good notes. TAKE HIM!!!!!

Look, all he wants you to do is express your opinion or get into a debate with him in class. He just asks that you have some shred of an intellectual thought! At least skim over the reading/notes before tests and quizzes and you should be ok. Absolutely a kind-hearted man who does everything in his power to make sure students understand.

Great teacher. Extremely nice and easy to get along with. Offers study sessions out of class and goes out of his way to make sure you understand the material. The tests are only hard if you don't understand the material, which can take a lot of time to do in a logic class. Homework once a week. Definitely take a class with him if you can.

Comment:

Don't get me wrong. Marty is the cutest and funniest old man out there and he is a sweetheart, but if you're looking for an easy grade don't take this class. The lectures are good, although he talks in circles and is unclear. Tests are extremeley hard and so are quizzes. Not a GPA booster!
