Comment:

First day of class awkwardness continues for the rest of the quarter. She is very sweet and is willing to help you out but the assignments are so boring and do not allow for much creativity. This class is an easy A if you keep up with assignments and follow the grading system. The three hour class also feels very long.

Comment:

The Art Sustainability focal point was a bit of a let down. It had a lot of really cool information but the class discussions were so boring and class always felt undeniably long. You know the awkwardness felt on the first day of class? Well I felt that way every time I went to this class. Nice lady but the class was meh.

She's very kind and caring. She obviously wants you to succeed. She's pretty clear with her assignments and grading, but can sometimes get lost in her own words. Class could've been a little more structured. My main gripe is that the class was very long and she didn't do much to make it feel shorter. In-class work was boring and physically taxing.

Shes so sweet but her lectures just drag. A lot of people end up not doing the readings which just lead to an awkward class discussion and many awkward silences. Since this was an Explore Chicago class we took a field trip every week, which was nice and the writing assignments connected with some of the field trips were an easy A.

Professor Duffy was such a sweetheart for explore Chicago. She really cares about students and if you put in the effort when you tell her you're struggling, she'll recognize that. A real, genuine person more than Professor.

Comment:

Avoid her if you can. Like others have said she is nice, but she is horrible at explaining and demonstrating examples of the assignments. She throws you into an assignment without knowing how to begin and then she shows you her example. Her class is very slow and gets boring. Breaks are 15 minutes. As a person she is great, but not at a professor.

Unbelievably sweet woman. Gives a lot of hw sometimes but it's all relevant to the next class discussion. She's super patient and understanding that students have lives too- she'll work with you. Class can be very difficult if you have no understanding of art but nonetheless, she'll help you understand if you can't on your own.

Professor Duffy is a sweet lady with good intentions,however, she expects that everyone that is in her Explore Chicago class to be an art major and has high expectations. She is a very tough grader and I do not see myself taking another one of her courses again.

Professor Duffy is a nice person. However, The class gets very boring and repetitive. You can miss two class periods before she lowers your grade. Be prepared to spend many hours a week drawing outside of class.

Had her for Beginning Drawing. Loved the class. Make sure you show up and do your homework and you're fine. Also, she requires WAY TOO MANY materials for the course. Buy as you go. Sharing paper and charcoal with friends is highly recommended.

She is so nice! The class can be boring if you don't try, or already know the programs well. She wants everyone to do well, you really just have to do your work. There isn't any outside hw if you use class time wisely. I definitely recommend her, especially if your an art major! for non-art majors or people who aren't serious don't take this class

ad. color design class was incredibly long and boring.. but she is a really nice lady and i liked her personality. trys to help as much as she can but just cant communicate well. didnt really learn much, lots of tedious in class work. dont take if you cant stand being in class for 3 hrs twice a week.
