Makes you feel like you and your opinion matter. She grades off six main things (a creative project, an essay, in-class quizzes, two midterms, and a final) Does a great job including other mediums for learning (lets you watch the plays, great powerpoints, reads out loud, etc. I cannot say enough about what a great person she is.

Professor Cutler is an amazing person! She puts a lot of time into making her lessons interesting and applicable. The projects that she gives are not the typical ones, so her classes are fun and energetic. She is always more than willing to help outside of class. She can be a little intimidating when giving feedback, but it's worth it.

I love Mary Lynn. I took both English 201 and 202 from her and loved her classes more and more as the semester went on. She is a very genuine, caring professor that wants you to succeed. Class was always really fun (she's super funny) and there really isn't much homework. It's fun, easy, and enjoyable. Take this class from her!!!

I have taken classes from Mary Lynn twice now, and I've loved both of her classes. She has you write paragraphs in class, she chooses good reading materials. If you participate in class discussions, you'll get an A whether or not you do the readings. She is also ALWAYS willing to meet with students about tests, concepts, or essays. I love her!! <3

Mary Lynn is very knowledgeable about the material and cares a lot about her students. She's always willing to help. Her lectures are a little scatterbrained and hard to follow, but if you pay attention and go to her for help you'll do well in her class.

Professor Cutler is one of my favorites. Yes, this is a homework heavy class. But she is organized, you know what she expects and gives lots of examples, she breaks large assignments into smaller pieces so they are less overwhelming, she balances it well. She is great for those that want to learn and become good writers and students.

Professor Cutler is a really great teacher, and cares about teaching things that are applicable to the class, and the elementary major. At the beginning of the semester, she is a bit heavy in assignments and reading, but it is generally pretty easy, and she is very caring. The english department requirements for attendance was the only downside.

Professor Cutler was a good teacher! Sometimes her lectures got a little confusing because she gets so excited about what she's teaching and her thoughts become disjointed. As long as you attend class and study the powerpoints she provides, the tests are fairly easy. Quizzes in class, three tests (including final), one paper, and one project.

Cutler is a great professor, but she will not post most of your grades until after you take the final. However, I didn't show up to about 1/3 of the quizzes but at the end of it, she gave me full credit for all the quizzes. I honestly think she may have lost all of the quizzes! haha Overall though, she has great insights. Pop quiz weekly.

I didn't read 90% of the readings, didn't pay attention in her class, and I got an A. Her lectures are scattered, her grading can be tough, and the review that said she lacks explanation is true. However, she truly cares about her students, which is great. Her projects are more creative than most, and only having one essay was great. Mixed bag.

She is very scattered and unorganized. It was extremely hard to communicate effectively with her. Instead of finishing her statements, she says, "Do you see what I mean?" even when she hasn't said anything definitive. I found her comments and her attitude towards students to be disrespectful and self-righteous. I would avoid this teacher.

Mary Lynn was really awesome at making this GE as easy as possible! At the beginning there are tons of little assignments and group projects, but half way through, you just focus on the 10 page research paper. She cancels class 3 times to do one-on-one workshops that are super helpful! As long as you do the work, you can do well in this class.

Mary Lynn's class will demand that you work, but she is a great professor. She is very focused on you understanding the conceptual aspects of the work and getting you to think. There's quite a bit of reading but if you do your part your can get a good grade. VERY informative class!

Professor Cutler was an easy, but amazing teacher! She made the material so interesting and that was really hard at 8am!! She makes sure that you don't have a lot of homework, but you do HAVE TO READ to pass. She does give "Pop Essays" in class to check reading (only 10 the entire semester) but drops 2. Loved her class!

Professor Cutler was a really easy and amazing teacher! She is a really easy grader and gives very few assignments. There were 2 midterms and a non-comprehensive final that, as long as you read, are really easy! She did give hints in lectures about what was on her test, as well as "Pop Essays" to check if you read but you are allowed to drop 2.

We worked in groups a lot which was really nice. The work just felt like a lot of busy work. As for her, she's not very helpful and it's hard to ever catch her at her office hours. The class was a good idea, but they could of picked a better teacher more suited to teach this class.

She liked us to work in groups and wouldn't give us personal feedback in class - you have to visit her office - and she is prompt in responding to emails. There was a lot of busy work with reading from the text, but if you simply do your hw, you'll do well in the class.
