Comment:

Mary Rising is an insufferable professor. Her methods of teaching are scattered, and she has no interest in being sure of her student's understanding. Tests are lengthy and graded based on her personal views of what is and isn't clear. She is generally rude and condesending, and, ironically, does not appear to have any passion for teaching at all.

Comment:

Mrs. Rising is a great teacher. The class is certainly not easy, but it shouldn't be. It is meant to prepare students to teach math. I feel that many complain because she is strict, but it is important that the student (future teachers) know the information well. If you want to be prepared well for teaching math, you need to take Mrs. Rising.

Comment:

Mary Rising is the worst professor that i've even had. She makes her students feel very stupid in class and it literally makes everyones feelings hurt. She has a very nasty attitude in class and during her conferences. Her Final Exam is 40 pages long..tests are 15-20 pages(NO KIDDING). I suggest anyone DON'T take Ms. Rising's class in 151 and 152.

Ms. Rising is a huge jerk and I would not suggest anyone to have her as teacher. She made life pure hell.

She's a very tough and will definity put you to work from the very first day. She is very mean & loves to have an arrogant attitude from the gecko in conferences and in class. She is someone I would not influence anyone to take.. Unless you don't mind an overweight of stress and misery day by day. Homework on average she says is done in 3 hours!

She is a great teacher, but she will challenge you. I suggest going to class and not skipping, but she is very good at what she does. She can come off as a jerk, and she can stress you out, but you leave the class feeling like you actually have learned something. Take it or leave it.

She shouldn't be a teacher at all. She has a bad attiude towards students & LOVES to give homework that she says takes 6 hours to complete on average.Her tests & quizzes are even worse. If you want to keep your social life..skip Ms. Rising's Class.

The worst professor I have ever had. She's rude and has a terrible attitude. She enjoys making students feel stupid.. I guess it makes her feel better about herself. She would keep us over just about every class period, one time up to 15 minutes past. I went early in the semester for help and she was very rude. I ended up with a C but worked very hard for it without any help from her. It's sad that she is teaching teachers because she is a terrible one herself.

Mrs. Rising is one of the best teachers I have ever hard. Yes, she is challenging but she only wants the best for her students. If you put forth a lot of effort and stay on top of your work, you will do fine. I highly recommend her!

Ms. Rising is a wonderful math teacher and really knows what she is doing. She is doing a great service to the education department by making sure the students who pass are the ones with good critical thinking/math skills. They are the ones who should be out in the classrooms. The material is tough, but if you put forth the effort, you can do well

Very hard class but clear teaching. There is alot of homework and test are very long and hard. She does have a bad attitude at times but you just have to suck it up and try your hardest. Good luck!

She really explains the material well. If you have questions she takes the time to answer them. The material is hard but she really tries to make it clear. There is just a lot to cover. She does expect you to know the basics before you get there but nothing not covered in 151. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

Comment:

She is the harest teacher ever. Don't ask her a question because she will make you feel stupid. I really hope I do not have to have her again. Math used to be my favorite subject, she made me not want to become a teacher liked I planned to.

Math is one of my stronger subjects. However, she doesn't have a good attitude. If you have a question, she can be very condemning. Tests are very long, usually over 10 pages. She grades very strictly on HW and tests.
