Let's just say, life isn't easy. If you are determined, hopeful, respectful, think outside the box, open to taking risks, inhaling and exhaling through negative thoughts, relaxing, you will make it (through what you thought was a hard achievement).

as previous students had mentioned Dr. Furda is abrupt and not for the faint at heart. She will not hesitate to embarass or put the student down. She is a wealth of information but I would not recommend her.

Doctor Furda was awesome she was very articulate and clear in her teaching ability. I would love to learn more and wished she taught a follow up class. She is a wealth of knowledge, take lots of notes and enjoy the ride.

Comment:

Furda is not a teacher for the faint of heart. She is hot headed, and will not hesitate to interrupt you when asking her a question, she is not afraid to humiliate you in front of the class. If you want to pass her class, record EVERYTHING in the class,study hard,sit in the front,and pray you get a muscle you are comfortable with for the practical!

She is truly an incredible teacher, with a wealth of knowledge and a very compasionate teacher as well. It is a very demanding subject with medical applications, for it not to be hard, you would be shortchanged on what you learn. I have seen a few people get her ire up, most of the time I saw her point, they often weren't paying attention.

Dr. Furda has amazing knowledge. Her willingness to help you learn is exceptional if you treat the material with respect. It's important to be a committed student if you sign up for her classes. They are not easy, but they are exceptional. Courses taken from her were Intermediate and Advanced Massage. An asset to the De Anza program.

Dr. Furda is NOT an easy teacher but I learned so much from her. If you disrespect her - then don't expect respect in return - simple enough. Attend the classes, listen and try - that's all you need in this class to succeed.

Comment:

Furda is not in control of her emotions. She can treat students terribly when she judges their behavior negatively. She won't hesitate to insult and lambast a student in front of the whole class if she gets angry. On the other hand, Furda has great knowledge, and if you can put up with her mood swings and poten. verbal assaults, you'll learn a lot.

She's no push over and she's not your friend. Behave and work hard to earn her respect. You must earn your grades, and you will be a better therapist for it. She has a vast knowledge base and is a great resource.

Furda has major problems with her identity. She looks down on her students and likes to brag about her doctor crappy paper. She will not respond to you if you call her Furda, unless it comes with doctor in front. The Dean had several talks w.her BEHAVE!

I got a C, unusualy low for me. She's tough, but stick with her. Don't drop, she's there to build your character and make you appreciate all the other massage teachers. You can also learn a lot from her.

I'd suggest strong caution. Furda has some *serious* aggressiveness problems, even though her image is quite the earth-hippie. Unfortuantely, she seems to be the only teacher for int'm and adv. massage.
