I think Mr. Carey is a wonderful coach and he definitely knows his stuff, but personally he's a little too hard on his peers. This class is not for anyone who can't handle being spoken at sternly or being yelled at. In all honesty, my experience in this class so far is making me want to drop out of university altogether.

I've always been told that I was a good singer. I step food in his studio and I am immediately met with disregard. No matter that I was a competitive singer for 4 years. I wasn't good enough. For someone with low self-esteem, it didn't help to have a professor who always said that everything I was doing was wrong.

absolutely fabulous voice coach. As one of his youngest students in his studio, he was very supportive and he was thrilled to work with me. He enjoyed helping me with my vocal talents as well as accompany me to NATS in the spring. If you are seeking to take classical voice, take from Matt Carey.

I really liked him, and i tink tht he does a good job of teaching the subjects that he test over. easy tests, and the only hard thing in the class is the 8 page term paper at the end of the class

mmkay, this is the most boring teacher I've ever had and he says mmkay about 100 times in class. He also marks attendance as soon as class starts so if your five minutes late, your just absent. you know what I'm saying, mmkay?!

Not an easy A. Our class average grades were C's. If you get below a certain grade he will let you remediate and take the test again. You do have to go to class. He gives you a Study Guide for every test. I didn't like having to go to 6 musical concerts and its 25% of your grade. He is nice and helpful, but i would rec. finding an easier pro.

Okay Carey is a great singer and he knows his stuff but just let him teach you voice don't ever take career advice from him because he has no idea what he is talking about. He "tries" to be intimadating and he knows it but don't fall for he is just a total diva.

Mr. Monotone gets a kick out of putting crazy small detail questions on tests, trying to put you to sleep in class and griping at those who do. This is my hardest class...come on..fine arts music?

don't take him. he does know what he is doing he is a great vocalist, and helped me on a few issues but i didn't get the grade i deserved and he makes me feel uncomfortable in lessons.
