Comment:

Very unorganized, makes mistakes to the point to where you have to second guess everything, only tests are midterm and final (35% and 45% of your grade). 3 points off your entire grade if you're caught on your phone. However, I don't think the tests are very hard and she does curve the grades. She also uses Panopto and does not require attendance.

Comment:

Dr. Messimer designs tests to see if you actually know the material. Study hard, because she usually does not curve. Fantastic teacher overall, always write your assumptions/explanation/givens for every problem. Her class was disorganized, but I do not mind. She assigns 7 homeworks (20%), 2 MINITAB tasks (15%), a midterm (30%), and a final (35%).

Comment:

Sherri Messimer is a pretty good professor. She makes notes on her powerpoints and does examples, and she is very willing to help if students have questions. There is a quiz every week that is based on the homework for that week, and the quiz is usually very easy. The tests are medium difficulty but you are allowed to have a cheat sheet w/ formulas

Comment:

She tries to be very helpful, but is very, very unorganized in class. You must ask lots of questions or you will quickly get lost. If you need ISE 390 for your major, take someone else. If you are just taking it as a tech elective and she is the only teacher, take a different elective.

Comment:

She's super sweet and has a great dry sense of humor. But bless her heart, she has so much going on. To be honest, lectures weren't very helpful except to copy problems with your ears covered. Just 2 tests and a project. Tests were easy, and she grades pretty easy too. I don't know anyone who made less than an A (not saying there wasn't).

Dr. Messimer Is a wonderful professor. She is genuinly concerned with the students success. If you are having problems, all you have to do is ask her and she is more than willing to help. All you have to do is attend class and listen. If you don't attend, you cannot pass, so don't blame her.

Easy. Some of the tests can be rough - few questions come from obscure footnotes, captions or nit-picky details. The rest come from in-class exercises (all worked and reviewed). The class is informative if you've not been exposed to the area in industry. Else, it's mind-numbing and redundant. But, she makes class fun and entertaining! "Chicken!"

Dr. Messimer is extremely fair. She is very nice and concerned about the student's success. If you have any problems, all you have to do is talk to her and she will bend over backwards to help. Class attendance is a must.

She shows a bunhc of pictures in here power point presentations, and doesn't give much information about anything. Then expects the most detailed things for the tests. Better write everything you can about a chapter on your cheat sheets, which are basically required to even hope to pass the test.

Messimer is very vague. She will give you material and ask you to know the most extreme details. If you fail the final you fail the class.
